Sabrina Cunningham Poem
I looked in her face, hers was nothing like mine.Chocolate I, caramel she, our
differences we don't see.
her hair short, mine extended 2 be long, yet our spirits 2 one another are drawn
cuz her day, pain and gripe is the same 1's that got me looking 2 the creator for
insight.
as young women we were taught how to be homemakers cater to my man and my kids first. In
the years we live in and are sure to see
that kind of reality
would have ur insides dying spiritually and emotionally
This young women i speak of upon first meeting, spoke volumes 2 me.
I admired her mind, take on life, giving spirit
telling the silly men in her life to come correct becuz u know she doesn't want 2 hear it.
Normally the catty of ladies, would lead me into a shut door of maybes about her
character, somehow we broke down those wall so that we could see exactly who and what was
standing awaiting entrance through the front door.
Every time i see sister cuzin i know she knows exactly whats on my mind, she greets me
with a sweet smile and embrace, let me know quick where to locate the food, smoke and
liquors in my leisure i am free 2 sip
sister cuzins, i luv mine do u luv urs.
Carrying the world on her back saving u constantly from mishaps, in tune with ones
shortcomings and sometimes indiscretions.
Seems sister cuzins always wanna take on the world. Always looking 4 luv, but seems we
stay just being some ones girl.
I come to u with sincere vision, sis
I see ur light, but i warn u, some folks, all they will do is dis it
Direspect, disspondent ready 2 disregard u and ur accomplishments at a flick of the wrist.
I know u sis,
ur hand strong and steady,
never ever giving these clowns ammunition to dim it
ur lightI mean.
anybody who is anybody knows that in your heart and good graces is
the place one longs to be.
