Zombie

And then it came in the final bang.
The future devastation when the last bird sang.
Eerie silence and dust filled air, toxic contamination too much
to bare.
What was before no longer known, a new species evolving
soon to roam?
Bereaved you’re spirit embraced the cold no longer a soul
but the devils gold.
Unsightly changes soon set in, popping veins and blistered
skin.
Heart turns black, no longer beats,
A zombie now stands on these two feet.

Grudge

A Poisonous growth, a grudge to hold, buried deep inside.
Lays there slowly festering, the darkest corners of your mind.
I have on good authority you think people favour me.
Riddled is your blood, such deep rooted jealousy.
You say that you have no one, but there’s people all around. And so you’re infecting others with the insanity you’ve found.
Learn to be at peace, with what you have and who you are, because the ones who had no malice, you’ve pushed them long a-far.

Nan

We had so much fun, didn't we nan !
You were my bestest friend.
Getting up to mischief, any problem we could mend.
Rolling on the floor with laughter, tears streaming down our face.

How lucky was I, that you were mine, we had no time to waste.
Caravanning holidays, a great time by the sea.
Paddling, building castles, you, mum and me.

I still love sweetcorn relish, you put in cheese sarnies for our tea. I wish I knew back then there is no eternity.

Then as I grew older, I could see that you did too
That didn't change our friendship, but I was scared of loosing you.
On that night you had to leave, in my sleep you visited me.
Your face so bright and close to mine. You were smiling.
Thankyou, for such a great time !

Shape shifter

That green eyed monster is watching you, hard to detect when it's around.
Like a shape shifter demon taking many forms, to manipulate, you it's found.
Now should you be nervous ? Hell you should !
Splintered razor nails, have their grip.
But you can't feel the presence of a flesh eater yet, because you're hypnotised and it's taken a sip.
Your kindness is weakness, it's sad to say. When there's such blood sucking creatures around.
So take this as a warning, before you start falling, and the life within you has drowned.

Unfortunate Snail

I happened upon the tiniest snail today, it's spiral patterned shell caught my eye.
Not thought of fondly by many,
would turn your legs into jelly,
would make the keenest of plant lovers cry.

An interesting truth, they have many a tooth.
In fact 14,000 of these.
They chew through your berries and flourishing plants.
I'd Most definitely prefer to keep bees.

Now, some people would take a different approach and find them a delicacy.
A hint of garlic and slathering of butter.
Voila! Escargot for tea.

But that powerful snail and it's slimy trail has a weakness that we have been taught.
If you are squeamish,
this may turn you greenish.
All you need is a sprinkle of SALT
