Because For Matt Caliri's -" I Love You Because.."

Because for Matt Caliri’s Contest “ I Love You Because..”

Because…
Your eyes lift your soul
to my lips
and
vibrations of essence
swarm my emotions.
Scenes play as I gaze
in my mind
of
time to come
where
I understand you
through all eternity.
Your smile leads me
to
my better self
and when you touch me;
it is balm for my spirit
and
fire for my heart.
Without your whispers
I see no light.
Darkness is cold.
Yet when we walk
side by side
your shadow
melds
into mine.
As the Banyan trunks
grow together
with twists and bends
ever sturdy and strong
so is our passion together.
Therefore,
a gift so pure;
relentless in giving
as if it were
lingering fragrances.
All this
Is Because

Real Life Shoe Fable

Old Woman with too many kids
Lives in ancient shoe
Kicks out the heel
And puts in a pool!

Dirt Roads

Dirt Roads

Hello ole friend, I’ve visited you before.
What can you tell me, what news is in store?
You read like a book, imprinted and deep.
I know there are secrets, you like to keep.

Let’s see what’s gone by, and traveled your way.
Unusual footprints or tracks I might say!
Looks like ole Fred’s been here with his truck,
And after the rain, looks like he got stuck.

Small stroller wheels and a couple small feet
Pulling a wagon, that kid is so sweet.
I see some new rocks jumped up from down under
And oops there’s that pothole, new rattles asunder.

You carry the brunt of Nature’s worst weather.
I see where the flood washed out Sara’s heather.
Now here aways, fences embrace
Where wildflowers blooming, no curb to efface.

And now through the hollow, the trees all adorn
Like trumpets announcing this majestic morn.
The deer and her fawn, new prints in the snow
Your cold shoulder is icy, in minus below.

And yet dear old friend, my thoughts turn to you.
You haven’t changed much, you’re one of a few.
No concrete, no asphalt, no white lines or yellow.
No signs and no limits, you’re a polite kind of fellow.

The stories you’ve seen as each day may pass
The history made, the silence of past
Are imprinted here, upon your great crest
More than my years, you’ve stood the test.

Horses and wheels, motors and tires,
Footprints and hopscotch, puddles and miers.
You’ve seen it all from beginning of time
And still your pure beauty so easy I find.

And now I arrived the place I call home
You’ve guarded me safely when I’m all alone.
I wonder how often anyone cares
How great has your day been, traveling there?

Summer's Voice

Silence of humidity,
Slow chimes in a light breeze,
Sunset waves saying
Shhhhhhhhh.

Gift To Colleen Christmas and Always

To Colleen Bono A Precious Soup Member.

Gift to Colleen Christmas and Always!

Poets are gifts, to a world often bleak
Their deepest emotions, often they speak.
Sensitive hearts, much more than the rest
No choice were they given, they must stand the test.

Often the world, they see in despair
The trials and troubles, of life everywhere.
Depression more common, than not do we see.
But this is the depth, of our inner tree.

A tree we must climb, to branches more high
To witness the joy, our strength to apply.
Our deepest prayers, to God only knows
Our words often scribbled, due to our woes.

Do not disregard! Do not despair!
Do not give up! Handle with care!
A gift from MD, who sees the mind blight
Listen and learn, and all will be right.

Release all your fears, today is the day
There isn’t a problem, that won’t go away!
Be mindful of worth! Be mindful of gifts!
Your presence alone, would greatly be missed!

So sensitive child, these words I must say
You’re one of God’s chosen, Don’t Throw This Away!

Reach out for a hand, To help climb this tree.
Trust me I know, The beauty you’ll see.
Your sensitive gifts , are waiting to bloom!
Maybe you’re tired? Maybe you’re gloom?

But trust in the knowledge, Of God and MD’s.
This too shall pass, just wait and see.
Life is a gift, we make it our own.
You have many gifts, the lights may be dim.

Wash out your eyes, clean out the smart.
Look up to God, And OPEN your heart!
HE has a plan, With just YOU in mind!
You’re one of his SPECIALS, You’re One of a Kind!

The sensitive ones, who make the world round
With talents and gifts, and depth so abound.
Reach out and restore, your heart and your mind
Lift up your head, NOW is the time!

To make a big change, and climb to the top
Each has a tree, this is our job.
Your life is so precious, your worth is so true.
You’re Special to God, because HE made you!

So carry on child, Be not afraid!
You have much to do, do not delay.
I’m watching you grow, so steady I’ll be
Now it’s your turn, to climb UP the Tree.

Love, Light & Prayers

Coconut Cake

Coconut Cake

Sometime there’s things I like to make
But I’ll always buy a Coconut Cake
In a box so neat and square
It’s white and light and filled with air
Melts in your mouth with cup of tea
And it’s not made by Sara Lee.
I take a slice, then just one more
The next I know I’ve totaled four
I walk away, with still some left
It calls my name till I am deaf
And so I say “Oh what’s the harm?”

Cold Spring Street

Cold Spring Street

When I was young
I could walk far on sidewalks
For it was a different time then.
Corner to corner
Across the busy avenue
Up Prospect Hill and down the long street.
But when I was late to return
The walk seemed longer
The street was longer and
Shadows were pasted on the houses I passed.
The Hill became a mountain that
Made me skip down, maybe run
And the Avenue was lined with endless cars
Blaring headlights
Going fast
The sidewalks now had big trees
With darkness around the sides
That caused my eyes to jump
As I walked faster with beating heart
Sweating
With a short run
I reached my corner,
Now my door.
