Vicky Carlisle Poem
I was taught as a child, "God is good, God is great"
"But don't forget, fear Him. You obey, and just wait"
The priests and the nuns, and the phonies and fakes
"It's all worth it, you'll see, God does not make mistakes"
Each day, I see people, bodies twisted in pain
Some can't speak, some can't think, and I wonder, again
Why do these people suffer, all the hurt, the heartaches?
And then I remember "God does not make mistakes"
Then I hear about children, their young lives cut so short
Yes, I'm puzzled, but always, they all have this retort
"Always know, there's a reason, know with all that it takes
Our Father's all loving, God does not make mistakes"
Then, I meet a young man, struggled since he was born
Something's wrong with his body, his heart's tattered and torn
So, I rattle my brain, 'til that part of me wakes
Oh yes, there's no problem, "God does not make mistakes"
So, if "He" does exist, and my doubts, they are real
I must let "Him" know how I really do feel
He seems cold, makes no sense, in the choices he makes
I regret to inform "God, you do make mistakes!"

Vicky Carlisle Poem
Years, 4 more
Well, this country's gone crazy
We know now, for sure
They voted Bush back in
Years to go now, 4 more
Tho Bin Laden's still missing
And Bush started a war
These foolish Americans
Want him there, years 4 more
Now the world really hates us
Even more than before
Yet, he orders destruction
Years to go now, 4 more
As he sits back and smirks
All these deaths, he'll ignore
He has nothing to lose
He's secure, years 4 more
I thank God for the people
Who could see thru this bore
Yet, we're all stuck like prisoners
Years to go now, 4 more
How I wish we could change this
Pains right to the core
For this dolt is the "leader"
Years to go now, 4 more
