Back To School

Back to School, on the first day
there will be no going out to play
pen and paper is all you need
no books or backpacks or lockers, you see
just crowded hallways for you and me
fighting the crowd to get to your next class
meeting new teachers,
wow what a blast!
Some you like and some you don’t
especially that weird old bloke
who tries to say everything in one stroke
and turns so red he make YOU choke
with worry of course because what it happening is SO NOT funny . . .
WHATEVER! You just can’t stop laughing
uh-oh so now he’s mad
you’ve set yourself, for the year
now to face you worst fear
a teacher who will pick on you for the rest of the year

Blood

Some people say that you’re not family if you’re not
“blood” related
But with today’s society what good does that do?
I say that family doesn’t depend on that red sticky substance that runs through you’re
veins
it’s what’s in you heart, how you feel inside
I only have one “real” brother, we share the same father
but the way I look at it I have two brothers and two sister
I would never trade any of them for the world,
even though they almost always get on my nerves
none of us “share” the same blood
but it doesn’t matter to any of us
all of this step-sister, step-brother, half-brother junk is just a bunch of bull-honkey
in my opinion all of my step-brother and sisters and MY family

My Sister the Poet

My sister the poet
Will let it be known
Of her past life and her so many homes
Of all her good memories and all of the bad
She is quite talented and has a lot to say
Her life with the devilish man who called himself her father made her that way
Mean as a snake when you make her mad
But the nicest person you’ll ever meet
A down right Christian, she is
And when you do something wrong she lets you know about it
Most parents tell their kids ‘Santa’s watching you’
But my sister instead says ‘Jesus is watching you’
At the moment she is writing a book of poems of all her childhood memories
From the very first to the very worst
Her subjects vary from her sister to her brother
From riding in a toy car to building an outhouse
But not all of it is funny
Some of it makes you really appreciate the life you’ve got
Wether it’s happy or sad
Or makes you angry and mad
It all flows together and it all tells a story of a life from hell that we are all glad
we didn’t have
To my sister the poet
I love you very much
And I wish I had your talent
I wish you the best of luck with your book
Keep up the good work

My Mom

I love my mom for she is the greatest
as you soon will see
she gave birth to my brothers and my sisters,
but not to me
this does not bother me,
no, it doesn't make one bit a difference
because, you see, at the age of six
my step-father started beating me
for a year i put up with this
and when i could take it no more
my step-mom was there for me
as i sat there and told her and my father
she held me close and rocked me like i was her own daughter
from that day on she was there for me
she raised me as her own
and welcomed me with love into her family
ever since then she has been like a best friend
and i hope our happiness never will end
