Andrew Shaw Poem
Never underestimate the power of a memory
How you felt on that first day of school…
The trepidation, the butterflies, the hope.
When you had your first kiss….
The girl…..what age you were….the location.
When you got into trouble for doing something silly…..
The shame, the disappointment on your parents faces….the embarrassment….but also the love your parents.
The smiles on your grandparents faces…an image no photograph could replace.
Some fade over time and others thrive, never to be forgotten
We drown in the sea of bad memories, but we marvel in the stratosphere of the good ones…..
Especially when the glow of the sun shines upon us…..
Memories of loved ones that will never diminish ….
They make us who we are….without them we would be lost in the forest, unable to find a way out…stuck going round in circles.
The Greatest of all human inventions - The photograph
Provides the knowledge that we didn't just imagine it….did we??
Memories are unique to every individual, as some remember better than others.
Memories are important
Memories are everywhere
Memories are everything……
Memories are everyone

Andrew Shaw Poem
What a beautiful morning
Pleasant and comfortable
The sun in shining but not yet blazing
A perfect time for a walk
Kick off your shoes and walk barefoot through the grass
Feel the Earth beneath your feet
Nature is glorious
Alboom with the most exquisite and pristine flowers
As the sunflowers, roses and marigolds dance in the breeze their vibrant colours catch my eye
Shimmering yellows, pinks, oranges and reds like a stunning sun rise on this summer's morning
I stop briefly and sit under the most magnificent oak tree to listen to the wonderful music that nature has to offer.
I close my eyes and listen intently.
The buzzing of the bees, collecting pollen to make the sweetest honey.
My taste buds tingle at the thought
The ancient oak tree whispers in the breeze acting like a tall umbrella shielding me from the summer sun
The breeze trickling my toes
Nature is breathtaking
A cacophony of birdsong fills the air around me as it drifts by on the gentle breeze
Filling my ears with natures music
What a pleasure it has been
I walk on following the stream, feeling the grass between my toes
The stream turns this way and that
Bubbling and babbling away to itself
Oh to have a paddle
In an instant I'm transported back through time to being a kid as I dip my feet in the cooling water.
Nature is spectacular
Nature is my sanctuary
I come across a mud patch, as dry as the Sahara dessert, with cracks like the Grand Canyon
Well to ants anyway!
Which way do I turn now in this evergreen land?
I think I'll go this way and stop at that bench with a view of the stream, the grand old oak and the beautiful variety of flowers that Nature has showcased just for me.
Calm and serine life is perfect
On this blissful summer's morning.
