A Life To Live

May death not come knocking on my door
I still have a life to live
Got dreams that i want to see come true
My heart is yet to taste the bitter-sweet of love

May death not come knocking on my door
There are several destinations i still have to get to
Ocean beaches i'm yet to vacation at
A luxurious house i have to build

May death not come knocking on my door
A legacy i get to make
Fulfill a purpose and give meaning to my existence
Enjoy life and experience happiness

May death not come knocking on my door
I've got to marry a woman of my dreams
Make a family,have kids
Share the priceless moments of joy together as we watch them grow

May death not come knocking on my door
I'm yet to watch the sunset while sitted on my backyard patio
With a drink on my right hand as i watch my grandchildren play on the neatly trimmed verdant lawn

May death not come knocking on my door
Lying next to me is my geriatric soulmate with wrinkled aged skin as i
Even as my heart shrinks thin i still see her as the damsel i fell in love with
Despite my sight fading as the distant sun sinking at the horizon
She's still the sunshine i see in this appearing dark and foggy night.

May death.....
This world was good indeed.

Pause

Continuity lacks meaning without break
Sometimes the winds blow uphill and other times down or perhaps even parallel
All,it all takes a pause
We work,then we rest
Whichever conditions allow
Nothing is ever absolute linear
the break of day beckons night to emerge
With it comes the purge of the day's
Anguish
And within it's darkness the calm of a placid context
The so cherished intercept of perpetual
Nature
We either lothe it or embrace it
Depends on our perception of existence
But the inevitable fact is that it's all a necessary glitch
A taste of what is to come for all
A glimpse of something better
Something that truly defines vanity
It is said,or it is believed
Peace is an awkward pause between wars
But it is what it is,peace
Perhaps death is a journey back to whence we came from
Or just another long pause between the now and the unknown that comes afterwards.

Motherly Love

Tik tok goes the clock
With each set of time
Her energetic vibrant being
turns frail
She who i'll never call by her name

In retrospect,she raged
Against this decadent diabolical world
She raged to give her bairns the best of life,
The tenderness of her infinite love
In equal measure we give our allegiance

Albeit in absence of economic strength
We never went to sleep with growling tummies
Neither did we walked bare and unstitched
And the coldest of the nights went by unperceived

Even in her recurrent nostalgia phase
I still see her
The sailor who weathered the storms for me
The soldier who fought my unseen battles
The angel that brougt tranquility within in the dead of the night

In all eternal divine
Through her brisk and lethargic life
I hold her in my warm embrace
My fourth god
My begetter.

Her Love Story

The sun rises, and the darkness fades
Days pass but no one comes
She lives but hardly talks
Under the serene nature of her existence
A clump of thoughts squash her mind

Her face is all dusky
She sets up a table for two
Knowing he won't show up
Apart from him, she expects nothing
She sees him everythere

At the engine station she awaits
A cloak on her left hand
As cold breath comes out from her mouth
The crowds pass by,engines come and go
And she still stands

She's is mad,they say
Look at her,a lost soul
No smile, just a cold pale face
He promised me that he'll come back
I will wait no matter how long it takes, she says

As she stares at a polaroid of their former life
A shadow looms over her
Then she looks up
Everything comes to a halt

The squaling sounds of moving vehicles
The chirping of the birds
All noise diminishes,fading away
As silence takes over
Her face lights up with a smile
A new day come at the vesper of another

And now it's brighter day
A story of life
It's a love story
Her love story
