The Pain Within

Pain,
A four-letter word, yet so profound,
A silent emotion that cannot be expressed,
It reaches deep within, touching the heart’s core,
Unleashing vulnerability, leaving one in sorrow’s embrace.

Oh, the word called pain,
A burning sensation surpassing hellfire’s heat,
Bitterer than any medicine or food known,
Leaving one exposed in an unjust world,
Crushing the spirit to its very core, bringing one to their knees.

As I sit on the beach, feeling the caress of the breeze,
My life unfolds like a fleeting vision,
Rejection’s sting envelops me, casting darkness,
Rendering me unwanted, causing discomfort to prevail.

A feeling so agonizing, it beckons the embrace of death,
It hurts, beyond words can convey,
Why must I endure this torment?
Feeling undesired in this vast world, I question my existence.
Pain, oh pain!

The agony it inflicts is unbearable,
Devouring and destroying with an insatiable hunger.
Pain, a deadly word that pierces the human heart,
Too fearsome to utter, it sends shivers down the spine,

It resurrects haunting memories, cutting deep,
Oh, pain, how I yearn to banish you from existence.
If only I possessed the power to create a painless world,
Where suffering finds no place to dwell,
But would such a world still be called “world”?

For pain, in its absence, defines our human experience.
I wish I could mend the wounds of all who suffer,
Erasing their tears that disguise the pain within.

Let us aspire to find solace amidst the anguish,
To heal and be healed, to replace pain with love,
For in this journey, we discover our strength,
And may our smiles reflect triumph over pain.

Success

The road is narrow, filled with tests,
Planning is key, keep focus at best.

Believe in yourself, both fan and foe,
Rise above the rest, let your dreams grow.

Dream big, but with plans in place,
Self-determination and control to embrace.
Don’t let your mind be a wavering tide,
Set goals and work hard, don’t let dreams slide.

Without a plan, you may end up broke,
Make changes now, don’t utter “I spoke.”
I had a dream, determined and strong,
But time, speed, network, and focus belong.

Embrace disappointment, it will come your way,
Face the punches and kicks, don’t stray.
Life is a risk, a challenging race,
Reach the finish line, your dreams to embrace.

Listen with your ears, think with your head,
Harness your minds, united and spread.
Follow your envisioned path, bright and clear,
Success lies ahead, let your light appear.

Let your work scream for you, loud and true,
To change the world, sacrifices you’ll do.
Work twice as hard to achieve your aims,
Through fires and storms, you’ll face the claims.

Life doesn’t wait, it moves like a tide,
Write your success story, don’t let it hide.
Wake up each morning with a plan in hand,
Hold your head high, on life’s stage you’ll stand.

Live every minute as if it’s your last,
The fight you’re fighting, worth the contrast.
Wear a trillion-dollar smile, bright and true,
A lucky charm that will guide you through.

Make the world better, healing its soul,
Live your dreams of success, make them whole.

Dear Past,

I thank you for revealing life’s art,
For letting me taste its every part,
In pains, joys, words unkind or sweet,
You shaped me whole, made me complete.

Stronger now, forged by your embrace,
Wounds and scars adorn with grace,
Etched like art on canvas, body and soul,
Each story they tell, making me whole.

Those scars, in sorrow’s shadow born,
Became my drive, my fires were sworn,
You spurred me on, fanned my inner fire,
Turning pain into purpose, soaring higher.

For every tear, a clearer sight ahead,
Each ache a milestone, towards goals I tread,
Truly, you’re the gift that keeps giving still,
Turning trials into strength, an iron will.

Through trials akin to the inferno’s maw,
Earthly challenges seem but straw,
Betrayals and falsehoods left thorns to find,
Yet deeper pain I’ve met, a crucible of the mind.

Now I stand strong, a conqueror in grace,
Thankful for the storm that shaped my pace,
Thankful for a tempest of lessons and more,
A past complex and layered, its wisdom I adore.

Defined not solely by what’s already done,
You’re a prologue, a journey, a rising sun,
A force that propels me into the unknown,
With lessons as my armor, confidence has grown.

Past, I’m grateful for your steady hand,
Guiding me through this intricate land,
Now I step into Future, arms stretched wide,
Prepared for an adventure, with hope as my guide.

Poverty

In the bleak night, ‘pon lonely street of Capitol Bye Pass,
Mine stomach’s growl, louder than thunder’s clash,
Mine lips, pink and cracked like parched earth’s skin,
I lift mine gaze, pleading to the heavens for a drop of rain’s kin.

With naught a penny to purchase water’s keep,
I stand on chilly walk, embracing self to find warmth’s reap,
Lo! A sight unfolds, a carriage grand and rare,
A man alights, bedecked in black with an umbrella fair.

Lost as a sheep, I stand before the data vendor’s stall,
Beseeching this man for aid in my academic call,
Lo! He purchases a card, with a hundred dollars bestowed,
Mine heart, shattered like glass, its fragments overflowed.

Unseen, unheard, by this man’s disdainful sight,
He returns to his carriage, swift as a bird in flight,
A single tear, unbidden, escapes mine eye,
Wiped away swiftly, so the vendor won’t spy.

‘Tis then I know, life is a cruel knave,
My hatred for poverty doth fiercely crave,
Dragging weary feet towards mine humble abode,
In mine chamber, I weep, and cry out to God.

Oh, wretched poverty! I despise thee so!
With every ounce of my being, thy presence I forego,
I wish thee naught, to banish from existence’s reign,
For poverty, thou art man’s direst bane.

Thy bite, thy pain, thy lethal grip,
Even in life’s façade, thou taketh thy sip,
Reducing one to naught, a mere semblance of man,
Thou strip away dignity, as only thou can.

Why must I endure days devoid of nourishment’s care?
Why must I face bitter cold with no shelter to share?
Why must I toil, a servant in unjust decree,
When all mankind, in truth, were made equal and free?

Why must I suffer, bound by poverty’s hold?
Why must my kin, my country, friends be ensnared in its fold?
Why must I tread paths where food is but a dream,
White rice without soup, a meager, tasteless regime?

Why must I endure, penny-less and parched,
Unable to buy water, within my grasp far-fetched?
Why must I subsist on dry gari and salt alone?
Why, I ask, must this suffering be my own?

Though pain, shame, and rejection be thy bitter fruits,
I find solace in Jesus, amidst life’s pursuits,
Yet, as a human, the ache of material want stings,
For poverty’s taste, bitter it brings.

It smells of brimstone, like the smoke from hell’s pyre,
An unbearable burden, consumed by its fire.
So, in old English tongue, with rhythmic refrain,
I lament this plight, in hopes it will wane.

A True Man

In the realm of true love, a man stands tall,
He never hides his feelings, he bares them all.
He fights for what’s right with unwavering might,
And never gives up on the ones he holds tight.

Sacrifices he makes for their ultimate gain,
Knowing that what’s meant to be will remain.
Though it may hurt, he believes in his heart,
That destiny brings back what’s torn apart.

Through trials and crises, he remains unafraid,
Expressing his love, not holding back, unswayed.
He prepares his heart for whatever reply,
Accepting the truth, he won’t make her comply.

He’ll never hurt her, physically or emotionally,
For he knows harming her is hurting himself ultimately.
Insults and abuse have no place in his heart,
For he loves her unconditionally from the start.

Her past doesn’t matter; he accepts her with grace,
Taking responsibility for his actions, he’ll embrace.
He treats her like royalty, a treasure untold,
And faces life’s battles, together they unfold.

He’ll express his feelings, his love on display,
Apologizing when wrong, pride put away.
Never giving up hope, he stays strong and true,
For he knows love perseveres, no matter what they go through.

Her wealth or status, it matters not to him,
He loves her for who she is, their souls in sync.
A true man, a gentleman, calm and composed,
A source of joy, fun, and love interposed.

He’s an encouragement, inspiration, and motivation,
An emotional support, his care knows no limitation.
He’s a best friend, brother, and passionate lover,
A future he envisions, their dreams they’ll discover.

Financial condition won’t define their bond,
Together they’ll work, a future they’ll abscond.
Respecting her loved ones, cherishing her dear,
Trust and honesty build a love that’s sincere.

He stands for his beliefs, unwavering and strong,
A man of morals and principles, never in the wrong.
He never forces, but lets her choose her own way,
He’s her soul mate, her Adam, come what may.

In him, true love finds its perfect reflection,
A man embodying love in its purest affection.

Internal Love

In the depths of my being, I yearn to reveal
The essence of who I am, a truth surreal
I pledge to stand by you, through highs and lows
A steadfast companion, as life ebbs and flows

As you slumber, I’ll keep vigil, serene and still
Witnessing your dreams, both frightful and thrill
In every waking moment, I’ll be by your side
Guiding you through darkness, serving as your guide

Across vast miles, I’ll journey through time’s embrace
To witness your smile and laughter’s grace
In solitude, sorrow, and moments of glee
Just reach out, dear one, I’ll be there instantly

Know that my care for you transcends measure
With every heartbeat, you’re my ultimate treasure
Each breath I draw, it’s shared with you, my dear
A testament to love that remains crystal clear

In your eyes, I long to bid farewell to life
As cherished memories surge, banishing strife
Clasping your hand, as we embrace our last breath
Together we’ll venture into the realm of death

No words can capture the depths of my devotion
Since the day you believed, without hesitation
I surrendered my heart, without a second thought
For you, the reason my mornings are brightly brought

To the deepest depths, I’ll traverse without fear
To make you proud, my love, in earnest and sincere
Today, to the world, I declare with resounding voice
That through sickness and health, in love, we rejoice

For richer or poorer, till death do us part
Our love will endure, unwavering, with a full heart
In time’s passage, our love won’t wane or decay
For I am forever yours, forever and a day

Dear Library

Dear Library,

It's me, Angel,
Do you remember me?
Of course, you do,
For how could one forget?
A constant presence,
A companion through my highs and lows.

I write to express my gratitude,
For being my sanctuary in high school,
A refuge from the cruelties of others,
A source of solace and strength.
Amidst the pains of academia,
You brought a smile to my face,
And made me believe in brighter days.

You were my haven,
Where I felt safe and secure,
A place where my true potential thrived,
Where I truly belonged.

Within your walls, I could confide,
Sharing secrets I dared not tell,
To my mother, sister, or closest friend.
To the world, I may have seemed selfish and mean,
But you knew the real me,
You understood my hows and whys.

You were my best friend,
A confidant when others fell short.
I know it may seem sad to some,
That my high school years were bleak,
But because of you, I found purpose,
And every day, I longed to be there.

In your embrace, I found respite,
Shielded from the bullies' torment,
No trembling from fear,
No heartbreak from their cruelty.
Within your realm, grades were inconsequential,
And science held no dominion over me.

You accepted me without judgment,
Relieving the pain I endured in class.
No longer did I fear the taunts of Angie, Clarence, and the others,
For my speech, my love for books, my dress code.
You were my sanctuary,
My guardian angel,
You saved me.

Back then, when life was overwhelming,
When I contemplated surrender,
You helped me rediscover my purpose,
As I slowly self-destructed.
When I felt inadequate, no longer smart,
Believing that mediocrity had no place among the brilliant,
You rescued me,
Showing me a new path, a new light.

I know my high school days were far from perfect,
But you rescued me in an instant,
And I cherish every moment.
They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger,
And those trials forged my strength.
I wear those scars proudly,
A testament to the heroine that emerged,
A warrior returned from battle.

Life is indeed a battlefield,
And high school prepared me for the wars to come.
You guided me through those tumultuous years,
And I stand before the world today,
Delivering a life-changing speech,
Grateful for the chance you gave me,
For the change you inspired.

You saved me,
Breathed life into a dying soul,
Rescued a girl lost in the depths of her own darkness.
You transformed me into an angel,
And for that, dear library,
I offer my heartfelt thanks.

Yours sincerely,
Angel

Money: Blessings and Cruses

Money, a five-letter word, so potent yet complex,
A force that drives us to achieve and to amass,
We yearn for it daily, and pray for it with might,
But in its pursuit, we must tread with care and light.

It's just a paper, torn and burned, a means, not an end,
Yet some are consumed by greed, unable to comprehend,
The pain it inflicts, the lives it destroys,
For wealth it may bring, but happiness it seldom deploys.

Insecurities heightened, and fear takes its toll,
A lack of it may lead to rejection, a heavy toll,
Families divided, friendships torn apart,
As we let money dictate our every start.

Nations crumble, and morals decay,
As we chase after riches, losing our way,
But amidst the chaos, let's not forget,
That love, compassion, and kindness hold a deeper debt.

Money can buy comforts and material gains,
Yet leaves us yearning for what truly sustains,
It can't heal our souls, or fill the void within,
For true happiness lies in the love we can begin.

So, let's strive for balance, and a purpose that's true,
For money, though useful, can't define me or you,
Let it not blind us to life's treasures so grand,
To the simple joys and moments that expand.

Let's cherish the laughter, the bonds we create,
For love and connection make life truly great,
In this world driven by money and desire,
Let's remember to stoke love's eternal fire.

The Greatest Entrepreneur

He sits and plans with purpose and might,
Sowing seeds of progress, day and night.

Nurturing ideas for the greater good,
Empowering others, as he knew he should.

He embraces risks, undeterred by fears,
Balancing losses and gains throughout the years.

A leader he is, with responsibility embraced,
Guiding with wisdom, leaving nothing to waste.

Shouldering the burden of a visionary’s quest,
Sacrificing sleep and time to ensure the best.

He strategizes amidst challenges and strife,
Through thorns, lightning, sun, and storms, he thrives.

His workers are cherished, their well-being esteemed,
His head held high, heart filled with pride it seemed.

Turning impossibilities into glowing light,
In darkness, he sparkles, a beacon shining bright.

A moon in the sky on a lonely night’s glance,
Many seek his support for survival’s chance.

Truly, he’s an entrepreneur beyond compare,
Facing risks head-on, with audacity to dare.

Allowing himself to be consumed by flames,
To emerge anew, bearing success and acclaim.

He strives to bring utopia to this Earth,
Chasing his dreams, for they possess great worth.

Even in the face of the impossible’s call,
His indomitable spirit continues to stand tall.

For his life is a journey, an unwavering song,
Where passion and purpose eternally belong.
