Rose

Remembering your silken skin - oh Rose
Which brought me to rattling knees
My heart, springs a steady bleed
Where you've wandered no one knows
Like you became a ghost
I'm left a vessel upon a harsh reed
No harbor to rest the boat
And i reach for you, Rose

Radiant beauty drew me in
tied me off in her mystic bay
To miss her so is my worst sin
How i wish she could have stayed
I find myself anchored, bud to stem
longing to see her face

By the Sea

Steam at the mug's brim warms my cheeks
From the upstairs window, glassy as the sea
A distant island's timber speaks and I watch
   the sun begin to peak.

Below, the dock rattles as bodies shuffle and skip
toward ships gathered around the strip like jowls.
A wave of air to wrestle, and they dare slip
Like leashes hooked to the collars of dogs.

A hint of pink daubs the tumultuous blue
While dive-bombers scan the surface for food.
I squint eyes in the centrum; a golden cue.
Look at the beige lips where palm trees loom
I think of you
Until the world turns blue
And in the tenor of water, a pearl sun blooms.
Morning deceives with her breath, so cool.
I wait for Spring, its scorching affairs.
I’ll sprawl like a pebble in her hypnotic tares.
A baking sheet to bask in her fiery snares
   I’ll be there…
