Caliginous Abyss

how do i find myself when i’m lost in you

when my smile stemmed from your happiness

when my tears flooded like rivers at the thought of not being what you wanted

when my pleasure came from shivers and shakes of the earthquake that was you

tell me how do i find myself when i’m stuck in the depths of your eyes

how do i find myself when i’m covered by the smile i use to hide

how do i find myself while i’m convinced i’m not enough

when my love couldnt to make you stay

when my hugs and kisses got pushed away

when my sacrifices went unnoticed

when i gave all of me to you and you broke it

how do i find myself when i’m not dark enough

how do i find myself when i’m not skinny enough

how do i find myself when i’m not pretty enough

how do i find myself when the person i love made me feel i wasn’t enough

how do i find myself trapped in the abyss of the what if’s

how do i find myself when i’m lost in the never ending darkness of my mind

how do i find myself when i’m tired of looking

who will find me if it isn’t me

Cracked

a broken mirror will never give you an accurate reflection
inner insecurities and outside opinions shattered once untouched glass
cracking through the imperfections unable to be hidden
distorting the image that is you
once a mirror is broken it can never be repaired
what once was will no longer be
you can try to rearrange the pieces searching for the crevices concealing you
but the shards protrude so far they leave
lacerations as decorations on your heart
coloring the depiction of you with the
tints shades and hues of your suffering
misery loves company
the broken seek to break others
you are a reflection of the mirror
the mirror is not a reflection of you
cater to your jagged edges
let them cut you
let them fill you pain
bandage the fractures
heal yourself from the inside out
embrace the perfect imperfections
you may bruised, but you are not broken
and your mirror may be shattered
but the light you hold inside yourself
remains unbreakable

To My Secret Lover

i wish it was you and me, the way it should be

mistakes were made and our time escaped

stealing our true chance for romance

i want you and you want me, but we cannot be

we love in secrets concealing our passion from outside eyes

peeling the layers of our clothing as i crumble the walls guarding my heart

my lips adorn your body with encoded messages

the secrets my kisses whisper along your skin

only the two of us can understand

i tried convincing myself it was only infatuation

but the way your eyes, lips, and fingertips connect with mine

infatuation is too far of an understatement to describe the desire the two of us confine

if you’ll let me

i will interlock the pain in your heart with the healing in mine

i will submerge you in the depths of my ocean unleashing our deepest devotions

i will awaken your inner euphoria exiling the afflictions that keep you from me

i await the day i can finally unapologetically love you

but until then, you’ll remain my secret lover

the one i share my heart and soul with

under the protection of the cover

Walls

i sit alone confined between these 4 walls

if they could talk

they’d have hidden secrets to tell

exposing the hardened exterior i dispel

during my darkest hours

my foundation strong and firm

crumbles to shallow puddles offering no return

the brokenness i try to hide

made visible to outside eyes

i sit alone confined between these 4 walls

trapped in the garden of my mind

walking through the vines of my troubles

i watch as my petals grow undefined

wilting and falling beneath my feet

collecting petals making them perfectly aligned

so no one can see the damaged parts inside

i grow comfortable here

in a place free of those who are insincere

enclosed in the petals sprouting from my soul

protecting me from being seen as unwhole

After Time

after all this time

your body still melts into mine

flowing like the sweet water of the rivers

after all this time

your touch still leaves me with shivers

butterflies begging to break free

after all this time

your voice still awakens the euphoria inside me

waves of pleasure crashing against my walls

wishing to pull you into the tides hidden between my thighs

after all this time

the marriage of the meadows in your eyes meet the sweet honey in mine

the rapture of soft caresses and a voice that sounds of white satin

the desire of a familiar hand, heart, and mind to intertwine

and after all this time

you still cannot be mine

The Back of the Closet

jeans that fit too tight
clothes that don't feel right
broken toys
shoes you no longer enjoy

throw it in the back of the closet

the words left unsaid
the thoughts that swirl in your head
the tears stuck as a lump in your throat
the heartbreak you never allow yourself to approach

throw it in the back of the closet

where the secrets lie and the monsters hide
the destination of the unwanted and the home of the forgotten
the marriage of memories and reminiscences

all thrown in the back of the closet

so just paint a smile on your face
and as for what's left
throw it in the back of the closet
the darkness will handle the rest

Elemental

rain.
the waters that wash upon me
cleansing my soul and healing my spirit
the tears that caress my cheeks
sweet stains left where the rain once was

wind.
the whistling blow brushing against me
rippling through the noise, carrying the burdens too big with it
the abandonment of all that once was
and all that should be

earth.
the roots grounding me in reality
growing the seeds that prove life is worth living
flowers grow upon my skin soft and delicate
kissing me everywhere I presumed untouchable

fire.
the flames that pave the way through the darkness
casting light on the shadows you could never outrun
harmonious melody of destruction and creation
rebirthing the spirit once lost inside you

Demons and Angels

In the beauty of your eyes, I see the chaos that created them

In the softness of your voice, I hear the fury that muted you

In the velvet of your skin, I feel the roughness that was beaten into you

Despite the gentleness of your soul, it's surrounded by the callousness of your mind

Warm heart with an ice cold wall

An outlet for pleasure and magnet for pain

Crafted by the angels and destroyed by the demons

Hyperventilation

inhale, exhale, breathe.

release all that has released you with loving hands
what wants you will always stay
why fight abandonment when all that wants you never ponders leaving

inhale, exhale, breathe.

let go of the thoughts they programmed into you
more than a body, more than a woman, more than a pawn

inhale, exhale, breathe.

know that you are more than they see
eyes blinking hatred are incapable of seeing the beauty that is you

inhale, exhale, breathe.

applaud your soul for having depths so deep none of the hands which grazed your skin could feel where you start and end

inhale, exhale, breathe.

embrace yourself for all you are now and all you will become

In the Mirror

i see everything, in the mirror

everything you crafted me to be
the good
the bad
the ugly

i see the highlights and contours you sculpted me with from head to toe

the calm in my eyes contrasting against my rigid edges
sharp enough to stab through you like daggers
don’t get too close
you may not be able to leave the same as you entered

the curls bounce against my head adorning my face with vines of the jungle
enticing enough to pull you in until you never wish to leave
dangerous enough to steal the breath from your lungs

the curves that flow along my body as rivers do the banks
inviting soft caresses and warm embraces
running deep enough you may drown

the thickness of my thighs gives birth to a gateway only the strong can survive
amiable enough to effortlessly delve you into pleasure
awakening the euphoria inside you
yet growing so exuberantly that if you bask in the rapture too long
you leave room for nothing but suffocation

the soles of my feet carry me
through the fires of hell burning in my past
and the heaven sent clouds cushioning my future

i see everything, in the mirror

everything you crafted me to be
finding the beauty in my demons
embracing the enchantment of my angels
obliterating the traces of ugly sent from your mirror
to mine

i see everything, in the mirror
everything possessing me
and nothing belonging to you
