Just Another Cowboy

Just another cowboy riding down the road to nowhere
Eight more seconds stop and stare
Their image may be different, but the core is just the same
And when you buy into the passion you only feel the pain
So deep that it numbs you yet just one more time
And the emptiness is unbearable you will soon find
That love is not found in a man or in the sweet words he may say
Don’t be a puppet in his play
When it’s the hardest to stand is the time that you must
Don’t give into the lust
In your faith you must trust
That the true peace come from the one above
As pure and true as a dove
Don’t confuse the love
 With his desire for you
It will only leave you empty and blue
Don’t you want what is worthy and true?
It’s so hard to wait
 But its fate
The one He has for you could be placed here
Have no fear
He’ll be standing before your face
Only because of God’s grace
So save yourself for the day
Lord, give me the strength so I don’t stray
 From your perfect plan
When I desire a man
To take my heart and hold it so
When will that day come, only you know
He’s just another cowboy

Music Man

Music Man

He says he’s the entertainer, so confident, so secure
When you gaze into his deep blue eyes you sense something more
As he walks through the crowd they all know his name
But he’s not looking for the glory and the fame
He has an old soul that was so easy to recognize
But he plays in a world so full of plastic and lies
He’s above the game they play, he’s so sincere
He’s got a wild spirit with no fear
He loves the fire but his heart is warm and true
And his piercing blue eyes look right through you
He’s the music in me
He’s the rhythm and melody
His words help me see the beauty in me
He’s Hollywood, if I could
But I never would
He’s Palm Beach, just a little out of reach
He’s words to a song
This can’t be wrong
He’s my Music Man
He’s a song that has never been sung
He’s an old soul with a spirit young
He’s a shooting star
A flaming guitar
He’s everyone you wish you could be
He’s living and dying to be free
He’s the Music Man
He’s the Music in me

Cowboy

So strong and self assured
He rides alone always wanting more
Never satisfied with what's between those fences
His spirit will wake up your wildest senses

By the cross and thorns that is emblazoned on his arm
His substance runs deeper than his cowboy charm
A tame Christian man with a spirit wild
A man of God, he is your child

His reckless nature will never subside
Yet humble he still has his foolish pride
His heart is bigger than the tallest mountain high
And you feel weak when you look into his eyes

His hands so rough yet so soft to touch
For him no ride is ever too much
He welcomes the mystery that comes in the night
A lover at heart born ready to fight

The complexity of this cowboy man
Every woman dreams with him she would stand
Alone, looking at the midnight moon
In her dreams, she whispers...sometime soon

Angel In Flight

She flies to the East, she flies to the West
Like a bird searching for her nest
In her journey she has found the perfect love
Sent down from the Heavens high above
He is the earth for this girl who soars high in the sky
He grounds her and keeps her safe and dry
From all the storms that come in the night
Never again is she alone on her flight
On her journey through life, she has found her heart’s desire
And today God will join them as one and sanctify them by glory and fire
This is a special day where two spirits become one
Lord, bless this life that has just begun

The Glass Palace

A beautiful princess all dressed in white
Stands alone in the still of night
A vision of light in a palace of glass
If she takes a step it all may crash
Down, down so she may never get out
From underneath the horrific drought
Her precious soul she tries to save
But what her eyes see is so very grave
Don't move, don't breathe, it's all at stake
Wait, this palace is not real, but fake
It's an illusion of a life her heart dreamed of
That was never blessed from the One above
So how could this be a palace of truth
No, just a dream born of youth
So she stands very still
This place so cold she feels the chill
In the core of her soul
She longs for someone to hold
The picture looks so perfect so pure
But look closer, look at the core
Full of lies and dark deceit
How will she survive the defeat
It's falling, falling all around
She can't bear the twisted sound
Of the crashing walls as they tumble down
Her pretty smile has turned to frown
She rushes out of the dreadful place
Her hands over her weeping face
How foolish she was in her palace of glass
She falls to her knees and prays this will pass
Then a tiny voice inside her soul says "stand tall
Don't look back, step away from it all"
She obeys the voice and walks towards the light
Her heart knowing she has won the fight
Tears stream down her face
She thanks God for His saving grace
Her glass slipper shatters but she does not bleed
Cover me Lord, this she pleads
He brings her to a place of peace
From her palace she is finally released
She stands now with her broken crown
But she is not sad, she does not frown
She glances over her shoulder at the shattered glass
And realizes this too will pass
She feels the warmth of His brilliant light
And she now knows what is right
She thanks the Lord for all His love
As she looks up she sees a white dove
She says goodbye to the emptiness
Finally her soul can rest

Caught Up In the Rock and Roll Game

Don’t get caught up in the game
Don’t get caught up in the fame
It will drive you insane
It’s only you to blame
When you get caught up in the game*Refrain:

Because you walk through the crowd
They all know your name
The road twists and twists
 With a surprise each turn
Try to stay above it all or you’ll soon learn
That the eyes looking in are hungry for your blood
Don’t mistake it for the love
Cause they all want a piece
Of the music, rhythm, and soul
They love the Rock n Roll
Then there’s the girl who writes the rhymes
Loves the love and soon you’ll find
Her spirit is so real and her sex appeal
I know you feel
The fire that burns from the words she writes to you
It’s a powerful heat that makes your heart feel new
She loves the melody you put in her soul
It warms her heart, it makes her whole
Her spirit soars so high
When you look into her eyes
The fire is so hot between the girl and this rock n roll guy

Don’t get caught up in the game
Don’t get caught up in the fame
It will drive you insane
It’s only you to blame
When you get caught up in the game

Battle Scars

Battle Scars

The battle scars are deep and so the healing begins
When you fight the good fight the light always wins
Though the battle may seem as if it will never end
And it’s all you can do is stand and defend
Your soul from an enemy seeking to pull you down
In a twisted lie of deceit he hopes you will drown
And when you feel you can’t go on because the pain is so deep
Remember you sow what you reap
So stand tall and be still
Wait, and while you heal allow for His will to prevail and follow his lead
Because in truth it is only Him that you seek
Wait to see what He has in store for your life
It is a future full of peace and promise, not strife
Look at the stars so high above
Feel their beauty in your soul and feel his love
Remember the struggle might seem long
But He will never leave you for it is to Him you belong

Journey Girl

She floats like a spirit on a journey wild
She has been through many a trial
She's never lost hope when the chips were down
Always looking for the golden crown
Evolving soul in a world so dark
She finds the light , looking for the spark
So down to earth, yet so out of reach
In a world with little substance and belief
In the things that matter to this Angel in flight
Sorting through what's wrong and right
She's no stranger to the strongholds of the other side
And at times she wants to hide
But this floating Angel won't give into the fear
Because a Higher power draws her near
Every time she falls to the ground
In her heart she hears the sound
Of his voice elevating her to the place she is destined to be
When you look at her , you would say she's no different than you and me
But inside she is dying to be free
And because her heart is in the right place
God has saved her with his grace
One can only imagine wher she'll go from here
Faith based hope dries her tears
So she keeps searching as He refines her so
This floating spirit will never let go
Of her dream to change the world and do what's right
She has the battle scars on her soul that proves she's won the fight...She's Journey Girl

The Journey

If you look for the rainbow after the storm you will find
That the struggle is because you were blind
But when the scales are lifted you will see
That even in the midst of the storm you are free
And the rays of light become more brilliant each day
It becomes clearer that this dark place is not where you will stay
For the plans He has for you are so beautiful and real
That nothing has the power over your soul to steal
The peace and joy that is worthy for you to receive
If you just look towards the light you will begin to believe
That only He has lifted you out of that dreadful place
He lifted you up with the power of His grace
So now your journey begins with a tiny ray of hope
But it’s all you need, to see the scope
Of the real picture painted before your eyes
A work of art that can be seen only by the wise
And how wise you’ve become because of the test
You must pass before you can rest
But once you fight that fight you are so much stronger than before
You even begin to welcome more
So you can be refined like a diamond in the rough
Oh Lord, this journey seems so tough
But you keep on searching for the love He promises to pour out to you
The clouds are clearing the skies look blue
And the sun is shining, shining so brilliantly upon your soul
That you start to feel strong, you will not fold
You’ll continue the journey forevermore
Because His love has brought you out of the storm and onto the shore
So you lay so still as you look at all the blessings found in the beauty of His gifts
And suddenly the darkness shifts
To light and hope and strength and love
And you know in your heart this can only come from the one above

Undying Faith

What is faith in this crazy world of uncertain times
It’s the never ending hope, it’s the quiet chimes
Inside your heart speaking to your soul
When the numbness sets in and all you feel is cold
Coldness inside without a glimpse of a warm ray of light
You are struggling to believe what is right
When you are caught between this world and a world of peace
And from all that is dark and wrong, you long to cease
Because from that world it is a losing fight
Where little by little you lose your sight
For the things that are from a higher place
While you linger in a world of confusion and disgrace
Lord, let me turn my back away from a world so deceiving
Beware of a world that will only leave me grieving
So I call on my faith to take me out of that place
To save my soul with Your beautiful grace
How amazing You are, my heart cries for You
In this chaos and danger, Your love is the only thing that is true
So keep me close in Your presence
So I don’t walk astray
Shine Your light in my spirit
So I can hear Your voice
I need to hear it - For this I pray
