Anti-Anxiety Poem

Anti-anxiety Poem
Author: Shawn Wilkinson 2022

Are you feeling lonely and shattered?
Have you lost the key to your heart?

Trapped by the Darkness
Suffering feeling of Isolation

Imagine feeling locked inside a locker of hell.
Torment without end

Help me Lord!
Help me break Free!
Because I can’t even find my own key!

I’ve closed my own door to the spirit
I’ve thrown away my own key

I have lost control of my life,
Now I stuck inside this shrinking darkness.

I’m smothered by rebreathing of air,
My legs begin to tremble without rest.

I’m standing here in darkness,
Wandering if there is hope of being found and saved?

Anxiety, gets to win, as I turmoil in my own sin,
Locked into darkness

My breaths are measured in toil.
Constricted by time, constricted in my mind and soul

But, I forgot I’ve got a friend in Jesus
His light is mine to share

He can break my locks of darkness,
He can break my chains of fear..

Send your holy spirit to my soul, as I ask with my lips
Send your holy spirit to my whole..

Please, Open my lock of hardness
Open the lock, for I lost my own key

Insecurity in the constricting darkness,
Unsure of my demise

I hear the lock turning
The key, he holds, rattles my soul.

I’m once more freely breathing, fresh air
I’m once more with others

Caring, and loving and accepting of me
Feeling helping hands of kindness

My needs are now few, my burden now lifted
As I may now help others on a journey to the throne

My mind recovers from the turmoil
My lungs can now freely expand

Awoken from my dream,
God’s thoughts still remain on me.

A deeper breathe in bed, easily taken
A concern for my past thoughts

Let me reassure you friend,
Your fears can now be laid to rest

It’s going to be all right now,
I’m reassured with a prayer in the dark of night

I lift my eyes to our lord as for interpretation of dreams
He ask… Is your heart closed to me?

Have you thrown away the key?
Are you locked into your own box of hell?

There is more to see…
A whole world of loving all creatures in my world to see

Be offering kindness to the least of these
Can’t you see your offering those things to me?

So, sooth others in their own darkness
And, Sooth others in their pain

You have the control to decide
You have the key to turn
You have a duty to preform

Drop the mic…
Thanks God!

The Light Poem

The Light Poem: by Shawn Wilkinson

I’ve done the hard work.
My chains are Freed
I’m am relieved
I’m a new person indeed.

Free to make new choices
Out of the rut of sin.
I’m rich indeed
I’ve won the lottery
Broken ties of shame and misery

I’m on a new direction
Unrestricted by the past
I can Start over now…
Reset button to my future!
I’m clean from sin, forgiven of the past

I’m clean now, forgotten off my shoulders.
I’m leaving my past behind me now.
I’m not returning to that trap of shame again.
I’m not taking the same broken road again.

Cause, I’ve got a new direction.
I’ve have god on my side!
A breath of fresh air
I can see clearly now
Friends and Family surround me now

My vision is now unrestricted
The clouds are lifted
The sky is clear
Barriers removed, my direction is true.

Lifted out of darkness, a direction unforeseen by the enemy
The walls that were around me are left behind
Upward is my new direction, unknown from before
His snare is left behind, to snare no more.

My sin’s erased, there is no return.
A blank slate for the lord to use and color.
To his glory, I’m now on my path.
To his glory, I’m now on my path!

My slate wiped clean, with purity
Prepared from your mercy, To live in me.
My sins forgotten, it’s my new reality.
Changed by his glory; I’m released

Freed of my burden:
sorrow, weight, sin, blindness, brokenness, loneliness, darkness, depression)

I have renewal: Energized, Now I can see, Made new, real joy inside.
