But you hung up.

I Am...

I am real,
I am strong,
I am willing,
I am lovable,
I am independent,
I am beautiful,
I am great,
I am God's property,
I follow God,
I can be serious,
I have best friends,
I love to shop,
I am a woman and I can handle this sometimes uncontrollable world.

Love At First Sight

I first fell in love with you,
When I laid my eyes upon you,
And every morning that I wake,
I fall more in love with you,
Yes, I may hate the person you have became,
But I love you,
Yes, I love you,
And even though you say “Don’t wait.”
But I’m still waiting,
And even though my name is no longer on your heart,
Yours will forever be tattooed on mine,
I’ve realize the mistakes I made,
And I beg for your forgiveness,
Swearing I’d never mess up again,
If only you’d have me,
I first fell in love with you,
When I laid my eyes upon you,
Baby, I love you.

My Own Beat

The rhyme is in my heart,
The beats in my mind,
As I go over the words,
Time and time again,
As i spill them out on the computer screen,
I know this writing is made for me,
It's what i do,
It's what I say,
It's what I feel,
Sometimes what I push away,
It doesn't always make sense,
But it's OK,
I understand the meaning between the words,
As i tap, tap on my keyboard,
Poetry forms,
Short but simple,
Is how it comes,
The rhyme is in my heart,
The beats in my mind,
Slowly making poetry.
Slowly becoming mine.
Emotions without reasons...
Is my excuse.
As i type it on the computer screen.

Somethings Never Change

He turned his head,
Winked and smiled,
He leaned in and kissed me,
All was good for a second,
Then I remember I couldn’t bear to love again,

I stepped back quietly,
And said I’m sorry,
As his frown came upon his face,
He asked slowly, “Is it me?”

My heart fell to the ground,
How could I explain my heart was much too weak,
Stupid little boys had hurt it before,
They said things, I couldn’t forget,
I’m sure if you looked closely,
You could see my tear scarred face,
And the crack that could never be replaced,

Yes, this man in front of me was quiet amazing,
Beautiful actually,
Which made it worst,
All the girls would want him,
Then I’d be alone again,
People as great as him,
Should be consider a sin,

He turned his head,
Winked and smiled,
He leaned in and kissed me,
All was good for a second,
Then I remember I couldn’t bear to love again.

Almost a Year

It’s been almost a year,
And I’ve decided to myself,
That I’m tired of waiting,
For you to decide,
That you want to come back,

As I raise my foot up and walk away,
I’m letting go,
Of our old memories,
I’m burning them out of my mind,
I’m giving up…
On the impossible,
And saying a silent goodbye,

I always thought,
That without you,
I couldn’t be myself,
That I’d rather die in pain,
Then to be without you,

But now I realize,
Being without you,
Really isn’t that hard.
I’m used to biting my lip,
When I see you,
Holding back my tears,
When I think about you,
For I’d never shred them in front of you,

Sometimes I miss our many long hour talks,
Or your soft loving lips moving in movement with mine,
Or you hand collapsed in mine for life,

But now I realize,
Being without you,
Really isn’t that hard.

It’s almost been a year,
And I’m finally giving up.

Heart Broken

He says, “It’s over.”
She says, “Ok. Fine”
Not even thinking…
This could be their last time,
He says, “Goodbye.”
One last time,
And walks away,
Not even noticing the tears,
Forming in her eyes,
And slowly falling to the ground,
He keeps walking,
Without looking back,
And just like that… He’s gone,
She continues to count each step he takes,
While muttering to her self, “Come back.”
And just like that…
No sooner he walked in her life,
He walked out faster,
She told her self,
This is what life is really about,
Falling in love,
Getting attached,
Get your heart broken,
And having “the one” to walk out,
When you need them the most.

School Love

Together they walked,
Hand in hand,
In harmony of each others beauty,
Whispering to each other with the sway of their walk,
“This will last forever.”
So much in love,
So much devoted to one another,
One last kiss,
Before the school day ends,
And the little girl,
Softly starts giggling,
And walks away.

Standing On the Edge

I'm on the edge,
About to fall,
I've got bruises on my arms,
From trying to hold on,
My body is slowly breaking down,
All by it's self,
If you can't count on yourself,
Who else can you count on then?
I'm on the edge,
About to fall,
I've got bruises on my arms,
From trying to hold on,
I'm so close to letting go,
How far can this stuff really go?
It's eating my insides,
Like no tomorrow,
Who's going to save me now?
I used to be able to trust people,
But everyone turned against me,
I used to give that boy my everything,
See where it got me?
I'm standing on the edge,
About to fall,
I've got bruises on my arms,
From trying to hold on,
...Someone, please catch me
