12 Months On

I’ve been trying to write this for quite some time,
Since that Friday night just after nine,
Since that day you were took away,
Every night I sit and pray,
That wherever you may be,
You are watching down on me,
And know that I will think of you,
No matter what I’m going through,
Every day I wonder why,
Each time I do and sit and cry,
At the thought of losing you,
I just don’t know what to do,
And now twelve months have been and gone,
My memories of you live on,
And I miss you more each passing day,
You should never have left this way,
Feels like my life’s been torn apart,
Each day without you breaks my heart,
I still had so much left to say,
Guess it will wait another day,
‘Till the day I see you again,
So I guess for now it’s goodbye, My Friend.
