Dreamers

Dreamers
What can you see in the New World to come
The things that you dream of when you rest in the sun
You lay in your bed with the thoughts so clear
The things coming true will give reason to cheer

Is it animals and birds or fish in the sea
Or the loved one from the grave that’s finally free
Is it houses and farms and land you can plant
Or the ethics you’ll learn from the hard-working any

Is it peace on the earth that comes to your mind
Is it Ears to the deaf and sight to the blind
That sickness is gone and death is no more
When races can equally walk through each door

Oh, the friendships we’ll have as we meet a great crowd
The stories will hear from survivors so proud
And the Christians of old that will see things so strange
We might be the one who can help them to change

We have to be dreamers since the world is a mess
We are struggling in ways that bring us all stress
So what brings you joy as you look just ahead
Those are the things that your heart should be fed
