Thankful For Them

the year was a mess
as was my room
school was a stress
I thought it was doomed
A's turned to C's
C's turned to E's
then there was them
them and their smile
that made me happier 
than id been in awhile
I'm thankful for their sarcasm
and take no  attitude
I'm thankful for their help 
with life and with school
I'm thankful for their friendship
I'm thankful for their presence
everything they gave to me 
and the person they helped me to be
last year was a mess
no doubt about it
but I'm thankful for their hand
to guide me through it.
