Afghanistan Trauma

Incomprehensible trauma and pain,
Watching the news and shaking my head,
I don't understand what is going on there,
I don't understand why the trouble and lack of care,
Those poor people must be so afraid,
Those children must have so much fear,
How can we help,
How do we welcome such pain,
How do we say it will be alright,
I am sorry your country has to fight,
The language barrier,
They don't know who we are,
From their home they are now very far,
Praying for them all,
What about the ones left behind,
Wanting them to find people who are kind,
I'm so sorry it's all happening
Hoping your new chapter will begin,
We are different for sure,
We have a different way,
But welcome to our country,I hope you can stay.

Ocean of Emotion

Stepping aboard, freedom within,
Chugging along with the breeze through your hair,
Courtesy always shown on the water, it's fair,
It's not about a particular boat,
It's not about branded jeans and coat,
Whichever one I choose to hire,
Inner excitement, is like a ball of fire,
Noone there provoking you,
Just sailing along doing what you do,
Preference for a boat, than a party and drama queen,
Preference for a boat rather than the city and seen,
Knowing yourself with many boundaries inside,
Come aboard and there's no longer a reason to hide,
Being in the moment,
Believing in this hour right now,
Yesterday has gone,
The future may be short or long,
Step aboard into the light,
Remember to pick your battles, you don't need to fight,
Life is as beautiful as you want it to be,
Find what helps your peace,
Simple living and boating is what does it for me.

Where Did You Go

I can't see you any more,
I don't know who you are,
Dating women and a new car,
Flaunt new clothes and smelling your spray,
Wanting my reaction but I've nothing to say,
It took me a long time to build up my self worth,
I understand me now, it's like a new birth,
Healthy boundaries,
I walked away with nothing,
Can't you see,
Leave me alone, I want to be me,
Your control doesn't work anymore,
Every bone once hurt to the core,
The pain has subsided enough for me to see,
You and I will never again be,
Thank you for the lessons,
I am much wiser because of you,
I allowed myself to go through it all,
A stepping stone for each fall,
Your now really old, acting really young,
Your pension years have just begun,
It's not my problem anymore,
I have firmly shut that very door.

See the Bigger Picture

My privilege to meet you yesterday,
Don't cry, your doing the best you can,
I didn't even ask if you have a man,
Your son was screaming,
You were tired, I could see,
Those around you tutting, were as rude as can be,
Parenthood isn't easy,
We all find our own way,
Sometimes it sure is, a very hard long day,
You said you can't do this anymore,
I said a prayer for you tonight,
So your feel his peace and love soon is in sight,
He looked about two,
Saying thank you for the gingerbread man,
See that right there,
Shows your doing it right,
Even if right now it seems a struggle and fight,
Wishing people would see the bigger picture,
Not tutt and frown,
I stroked your hand, so your swim not drown,
Tears rolling down your face,
Now listen hear, you are not a lost case,
Anyone who makes you feel, you are doing it wrong,
Change that circle to a positive one, don't leave it too long,
You see I've sown a seed now,
God's at work already in your home,
You and your son will never be alone.

New Chapter

Keys in my hand,
Painting to be done,
My new chapter has definitely begun,
Gardening work, elbow grease,
Sitting amidst it all with a grin,
Filling leaves to the top in my new bin,
You said I needed you,
You said it can't be done,
You said I will miss the money,
You said I shouldn't run,
I did it and I've done it on my own,
I am happy and I've really grown,
Challenges for sure but facing them as me,
Life is so beautiful and I can now see,

Walking from you without anything,
Was exactly the right thing to do,
I can sleep at night,
This is so me alright,
Naming my little rental home,
Seeing my faith has grown,
Starting from scratch although I am old,
Figuring the heating, initially cold,

Little steps making a big change,
Making new friends of a full range,
Church to soon start,
Pushing my own shopping cart,
Happiness is deep within,
Living my best life is now to begin.

Inner Child

Explosion of emotions to sieve through,
How do I process them,
What do I do,
Let's play,
No, I want to be alone,
How did I get so fully grown,
Healthy boundaries didn't exist,
Run free,
The apple orchards,
The crumble and custard,
Skipping to school to see your best friend
Breaking a bone, soon on the mend,
Consequences didn't seem a problem as such,
Then boom, you think about everything you do,
The impact on me and you,
No longer justifying why I am saying no,
Walking away from toxicity,
Always live with a grateful heart,
Bed and food is someone else's dream,
Be you, the world will adjust,
Kindness is a fundamental must.

Give It Out

Give it out for freedom within,
Remember judging someone is also a sin,
Humans being on the same side,
Different races and religions don't need to hide,
Hold out your helping hand,
Share your food and land.

Train Your Mind

We are in this world,
Though it is not all who we are,
Train your mind to see deep and far,
Then bring it back and focus on the now right here,
There's never need to have such fear,
You can't have both worry and faith,
Yesterday has gone,
Today has power and where you belong,

Tomorrow is not guarenteed,
This hour right now is where your mind should feed,
Time doing what you love to do,
Avoiding drama and negative pain,
Tranquil and peace must be in the main,
Perception is one thing, but follow your spirit,
See from the spirit,
Naturally in the zone,
Plenty of healthy time alone,

Surround yourself with where you you want to be,
Sand, oceans and a hugging a random tree,
Universal harmony fills you within,
Sometimes leaving technology in the time out tin,
Sharing love and what really matters,
Success is not what you own,
It is all about where you find peace and how you've grown.

Pick Your Battles

Attending every battle is not needed,
Think, is this for me,
Just decline and live your life simply,
Our attitude is the first thing others see,
Be kind to yourself,
Be the friend to you you'd want to have in your life,
Avoid drama and all the strife,
Ex partners trying to make you react,
Toxic people out in their pack,
Some bosses waiting to giving you the sack,
Take a step back,
Be you, your learning as your grow,
Surround yourself in the positive field,
From worldly negativity you must shield,
Find the things you love to do,
Including people who have a genuine soul,
Just keeping doing what you want to do,
No comparing yourself with one or two,
Love yourself as an individual you,
Time on your own is time well spent,
Heal in that time,
With hot chocolate not wine,
It's all in the right timing,
What you give out you get back,
Simple kind living, means you never lack.

Counting Life Blessings

Love has everything to do with it,
Love also has none,
Is your love like my love and have we begun,
Starting with the wrong partner who puts you down,
True love won’t make you cry,
You will be a princess with a crown,
Knowing your passion,
Knowing who you want to be,
We all can see the talent and it’s full in you inside,
Come out and sing, dress how you like and don’t hide,
We love you as you are,
We see you come so far,
Outliving children is not how it is meant to be,
My prayers were with you, that kind of sadness never goes,
Making room for the pain,
Legendary hits and a wonder to see,
Fans by the millions wanting you to be okay,
Wanting you happy to see another day,
Thank you for years of entertainment,
Going much deeper than a song,
Showing us perseverance and how to be strong,
Gone but never forgotten,
Your lessons you learnt along the way,
Helped many of us to kick abuse and have our say,
Tapping my foot then clapping my hands,
Watching the happiness in the band stands,
Rest in peace golden angel one,
Your new life in heaven has just begun
