Ian Service Poem
There was a young man named McAvity
Who resented that old Law of Gravity
He heeded a rumor
That values good humor
And now he is lifted by Levity.

Ian Service Poem
There was a young man from Lancaster
Who tried to do everything faster
He skied off a cliff
Landed on his midriff
And now he’s cemented in plaster

There was a young woman named Bella
Who tried to impress a young fella
Rain intensified
So she went to his side
And opened her yella umbrella

A young lady from Lillehammer
Was wont to consort with a scammer
No one could stop’em
Until the cops caught’em
And now they reside in the slammer

Ian Service Poem
There was a man from Millinocket
Who kept a green frog in his pocket
When asked why he did it
He said “Gribit Gribit
I’m learning frog language. Don’t knock it.”

Ian Service Poem
There was a young poet named Peter
Who struggled with rhyming and meter
Forever nonplussed
He gave up in disgust
And said, “I can say anything and everything I choose in the last line.”

Ian Service Poem
They called Him Jesus,
Fulfilling God’s eternal plan –
The son of Mary,
The Son of God and man.
He came with healing,
Our sorrows feeling,
Our God revealing,
Jesus, my Lord.
His name is Jesus –
He came to save us from our sin
When we were helpless,
Our dying souls to win.
His love has sought me,
His grace has caught me,
His blood has bought me –
Jesus, my Lord.
They hated Jesus,
And nailed Him to a cruel tree;
But God had planned it
It was for you and me
They vilified Him,
And crucified Him,
With thieves beside Him,
Jesus, my Lord.
All Hail, King Jesus,
The Son of God and Son of Man
He lives exalted.
Enthroned at God’s right hand
He now is seated,
His work completed,
Death lies defeated,
And He’s my Lord
And He’s my Lord
And He’s my Lord
Jesus, my Lord

Ian Service Poem
A young lady named Betty Young
Had trouble controlling her tongue
Whenever she spoke
Attempting a joke
She used nasty zingers that stung
A helpful friend gave her advice
“Before you say something, think twice
Reject what is acid
And choose what is placid
And stick to a tone that is nice.”
