The Challenge

Thinking of the future 
The black dog coming near
Things as we know about to change
Struck with total fear

About to face a challenge 
The hardest one to date
No one knows the reasons
The twisted hand of fate

I need to search within me
I need to dig so deep 
To find the strength and courage
As others watch and weep 

Standing tall and thinking
Of the good times that we had 
You may not be around no more
But you'll always be my dad
