When will we meet again

I reminisce -
My entering sixteen
Though looked fourteen
Full of perplexities of adolescence
More of vigor and less of sense
Thighs bulging out of my half-trouser-veins
Unsuccessful in hiding my protruding pains
Voice creaking, face pimple-filling
Shyness, blush, and anger aggravating
Avoiding my dear and near ones
And even the company of my parents
Reacting to the elders and earning their swearing
Yet needing someone loving and caring
Getting attracted to you, a girl of my age,
Undergoing the same feelings in a feminine-rage
And smiling at you again, again and again
Fearing what’d be your response, even then
Though you seemed well reciprocating
Yet stern-looking as though staring
Never daring to come closer to you
Waiting… waiting… waiting… to see you
At last fear-filled, confusion-lit
Pressing into your palm a blunt paper-bit
My first ever love-letter, with pleasant pain
Running away gazing at you again and again
Later, hearing your cousin finding it in your skirt
Putting it into your cruel-looking dad’s shirt
Getting spiritually half-dead
Hiding for many days in my bed
Later when I met you again
Finding you as though filled with pain
When you left home to a boarding-school
When I found myself in an all-boys school
Often my asking your younger sister
Whenever I could ever find her:
‘How is she?
Remembering me?’
Then -
You as you
And
I as I
Parting ways, and finding each other -
Never…
I miss you.

National Hypocrisy

O! Mahatma Gandhi!
You taught us non-violence
But we slaughter easily
Our own sisters and brothers

We create an institution
To promote your ideals
Yet we subject to ordeal
The destitute of our nation

Bride-burning and bribery
Casteism and untouchability
We puff in snobbery
Losing our accountability

O! Mahatma! Do not weep and curse
This beloved nation of ours
When the books of your messages
Are used only for binding packages

Tips on Thirukkural

Sea in a
Small pot;
Sun in a
Small dot…
Sky in a
Silhouette;
Stars in a
Sachet…
It's a stream;
It's a dream;
It's a treasure;
It's a pleasure…
Touch it once
You will feel as though
The Bible has
Taken another flow…
Words just seven
In a line;
Giving meanings
Many a million…
Meter minimum
Music many;
Murmuring of this
Makes melody…
Total Kural counts
One thousand and
Three hundred and
Thirty poems profound…
Tamil Holy Book
As it's known;
This is an ocean whose
Depth is still unknown…

(Thirukkural – verses of wisdom - written by an ancient Tamil poet, Thiruvalluvar, was composed between 450 to 500 CE)

Our Love This Summer

No. You are not old, my lovely wife! You're gorgeous!
You never become old. Just like love. The sun, moon,
Stars, planets, the Milky Way, and the universe,
Ever getting old and fading in beauty, known?

Amber sky; aromatic breeze; musical sea;
Listen to what those cuddling, kissing lovebirds say.
Let this sweat-glistening heat-bubbling evening, be,
Paramount life-thriving, joy-filling mix-fruit tray.

See, amidst new-wed-waves, starfish hide-and-seek, play;
Let's lie; listen to our long-lasting love lyrics.
With luring elements of this sonorous day,
Let our, spirit and body be wrapped by Eros.

Love in summer; summer in love - are fashion old;
Let our fashion of love, this summer, stand adored.

The Myth Of Sisyphus

Sisyphus wished to overcome the death,
This the gods did never like, the myth says;
It's hence they decided to take his breath,
In ways other than the very death plays.

They gave him a big boulder, the myth reads,
To carry it from the foot of a hill;
To its top and when reaching there he needs,
To drop it down and thus continue still.

Courageous, king Sisyphus went ahead,
And took charge of the huge molded boulder;
It was as heavy as a rock of dread,
Yet to it he boldly rubbed his shoulder.

Though this task was meaninglessly absurd,
Sisyphus performed it faithfully true;
This punishment was a concept so blurred,
He carried it on life's greatness to prove.

Feared by the penance of absurd labor,
Sisyphus did not wish to end his life;
He turned the task to fit in his favor,
Accomplished it amidst terrible strife.

He had his great relaxation just then,
While returning to the foot after drop;
This gave him great courage and strength again,
Each time to reach the rock to the hilltop.

The myth of Sisyphus tells me the truth:
Rebellion in life is essential too;
When the old paths are not soothingly smooth,
Paving new is an obligation true.

Let Us Only Love

Let's not, dear, fight, let's only love,
Fight in love lessens the love days;
Let's, to be true, forever vow,
And to tread on love's toughest ways…

Love's days are, in numbers, so short,
Fighting makes it shorter ever;
Love -fight and fight-love as true flirt,
Can bring in us much laughter sure.

Let's love and love and only love,
Even our fights are ones of love;
Let the world know well that our love,
Is love and love and only love.
