Twisted World

We live in a world
Where all things are moving
Where nothing halts
Where nothing turns back
Where all that it is is noise

We live in a world
Broken souls grace the streets
Hopeless lives is all that it is
Drive for money consumes minds
Shuttered dreams we walk on

We live in a world
Where cruelty is honoured
Where mercy is a suicide plea
Where love is a trashed word
Where pain is someone's cup of tea

We live in a world
Death is a wake up call
A call that requires a heart that listens
Listening is out of the context
Words wind washed

We live in a world
Religion is all that is
Routine is walking to church every Sunday
No growth,no grace,no glory
Jumping when the instruments are played
Clapping when asked to
Out of habit it is

We live in a world
Dependency has taken root
Financial literacy is foreign
Life is a hustle they all say
Daughters taught to not try hard
''It's a taboo for you to be highly educated
You must clean the dishes
You have to cook
You can't wear that
Dresses at floor length
Your hair done once a year
All in the name of ''wife material''
Sons taught '' I pay the bills i make the rules ''
It's a screwed nation
Devoid of pity
Ripped of mercy
Backwardness clouds their thoughts
Reprimands point all to revolutionists
Till when?

Broken Limbo

Its dark,,thoughts deep dipped
Taking a stroll but I wanna ride
To go so far that my feets tire
To do it so fast that my thighs burn up
All the more my butt builds

Excruciating lashing wind I crave
Creating a path on the blinding fog
Past the wind by the bulky cypresses
Till my eyes tear away
Till my vision is all a blur
Till m'breathe is stable-struggling
Till I hit on that rock
And am thrown off my ride

And am lying there
Dents on my cheeks and elbows
Blood stained trapped trouser on those greasy wheels
And I breathe
It can't contain me anymore
So the bubble of sadness render me motherless
And I embrace the breeze
And with it it carries silence
And in the silence I find my peace
And in the peace there is laughter
And in the laughter I lose a wrinkle
And my eyes glow a new

Coated Form of Care

Love
Simple word but extensive meaning
A word that drives all crazy
A word that shouts obsession as its replica
Overused and easily dismissed

Love
Simple but stupid
Mentors,presidents,guardians everyone warns
Don't fall in love
Love is for the weak
Love is bull
And i too second that

Love
A pronounced gesture of caring
Worries of those you don't want to loose
Love is like a drug,,,
Can get you killed, addicted or healed
Its just a joint letter word
Nothing about it is pleasing to endure
Its Root's are promiscuous
Its saving form during scandals is enticing
Its healing power is a mystery
But it is all in the brain.

Slap me with theories
Skin me using scriptures
Stand,point fingers
Still,,love is a coated form of the word care
Sacrifices made, calls made, texts we receive, gifts and places we go....
Don't torment my mind with the ''its love thing''

Ignoramus Life Limbo

Mwizi! Mwizi! Mwizi!
Shika uyooooo
2am habitual
I toss my sheets stand by the window
They all speak at once
''Achomweee....''
I wear my walkies and switch my lights

I scrunch my nose
Freezing outside
Ni nani?
My anxiety grows
I join the mob
Fury is forehead engraved
Rusty smells of pangas and rakes and jembes
Ticklish breeze blows hard
Goosebumps on my skin
''Leo atakipata,,,ametusumbua sana,,,anaiba ata viatu za watoto,,,OCS asiitwe,,,tutahandle....its all too much

I watch as he lays there
Blood gushing from his pipes
Teeth plucked out
His eye turned purple
His clothes stick ripped
Shivers as he pleads
Oh such a fakist
He deserves death
A silent voice asks,,''why should he face peoples brutality?
Its still for a second the voice creeps up my veins

Dependency is its root
Not having the normal triggers it all
Illiteracy,,, backwardness,,poverty
I can't bear it
5 steps back am out of the crowd
From far i watch as he screams
The matchstick kisses his oil stained body
His body slithers in agony
His whole existence is wiped off
What satisfaction does it offer?
Does it embrace the bitter truth?

From the leaders to the street children
All accustomed to not living without this and that
Is it scary?
It's sickening to think of
Its nauseating to look at
But what can we do?

Those in authority, insensitive is their way
They devour the strength of the weakwisdom
They render souls desperate
A culture it is
How do we change it all?
How do we train those who think are bearers of wisdom?

Desperation is all that is
Tireless working
Seizeless prayers
Hopless souls creep up the church corridor's
Sanity is German
Trying hard,,,having to sweat,,,working till it hurts
Their motto is survival
How do you speak gibberish to African people?
All they do is stare
Walking away is a career

For the gram
Clowning
Empty minds
Hopless souls!
Shame on our motherland!
That is why they plan on wiping us all
All we are is liabilities
Till when?

Depth and Vagueness

Maybe we look for depth in shallow souls..
hearts that don't perceive intent
minds that do not comprehend silence
spirit that are always in tune with dancing never a pause.
Ungrateful it may seem...but I am built of more
I want to unveil, ravel the moment question the why?
Yet assumptions is what we mostly drown in
 blind to masterpieces
scared of looking through things
unwise to the strokes made by the brush called life
Or just maybe some things are not meant to be looked at with depth?
 Just maybe.
The yearn for finding more maybe prejudiced, over thought and just wrong
maybe we need shallowness
maybe it needs no search of meaning
maybe that is the beauty of it..to be glanced at not stared
maybe the vagueness really is necessary.
 Just maybe.
