Isaac Rios Poem
I want to run away
Run away from the problems I face
It's easier than to confront them headstrong
Don't compare me to another
Not even yourself
This is the world we live in
A society that creates status based on merit
A society of status determined by wealth
Laws created by greedy people
Governments who silently attack
Oppression across the globe
First world countries in ignorant bliss
My hands aren't clean in this world
The human race is in perilous times
It's reached a point of no return
But the problems I face
How do I change any of this?
How do I leave this world?
What is life like when the world is a commodity?
I do my best to forget about it
But that doesn't change anything
The fact is I'm insignificant in a world
Determined by status created by achievement
In a world of income classism
I have tried ending it myself
Driving down a highway seventy miles per hour
Purposeful turning to crash and roll
Yet here I am, unscathed and forced
To live in a world that shuns those actions
Even when my reasoning is just
Yet how just is it to live in my bubble
When millions across the globe cannot live the comfortable life I have
The choice to end my own life is a privilege I take for granted
Many don't have the chance to live
Yet here I am choosing to take mine.

Isaac Rios Poem
Her loving heart is as beautiful as she
Her passion brings with her a world to see
Her eyes tell a story of a soul so true
Her laugh has the power possessed by few
Her personality is what matters most to me

Isaac Rios Poem
We may disagree on things but not all
Finding those agreements can bring unity
If we focus on the ailments we fall
While the opposite yields impunity
No matter our color, race, or nationality
The thing that remains certain
A world so unjust seems like normality
It is our job to raise that curtain
Shed the light on the plight and let's begin to unite
Whether we are black, brown, or white
We need to take flight, and stand together to fight for our rights
Which were given to us by God
It's time we unveil the façade
If we're undetermined then it's easier said than done, so let's unite as one
Allow all future generations to inherit their inherent freedom, not just some.

Isaac Rios Poem
There is solace in death for those who believe
That death is not the end for us
I realize it's hard to perceive
We are beings of light wrapped in a veil
Light is energy you cannot destroy
For those we've lost connecting with them is all possible
Align your energy with the one you knew and believe
That death is not the end for us.

Isaac Rios Poem
We both made a promise yet neither to keep
It's easier to break than remain
Bound by words and a loving connection
None of that matters anymore
It was all fantasy
You know it better than I
When it was over you mentioned a river
A river flows and moves on
Isn't it funny where we made our promise?
Beside that river where we searched for hours
We held hands and stared into our souls
You began the promise
Promise me whatever problems we face
Whatever comes our way we will fix
I loved you
So I promised with you
The love we felt together was real
More real than anything
Before you I wouldn't consider marriage
I would save your first kiss until we were there
A year later a problem emerged
Your emotions engaged to someone new
I reminded you of our promise
Your response an analogy of a river
I was powerless
In the end we both broke this promise.

Isaac Rios Poem
Life is a beach and in this ocean I'm drowning,
My breath draws water and my heart is pounding.
I'd ask for help, but swimming isn't hard,
So in this ocean, I stay barred
From every blessing I've received.
Self-sabotage is the only thing I've achieved.
I look at the light, it's now a world between us,
As I plunge to the depths of this ocean of sickness.
My last thoughts are not of my success,
but of that beach I left with that undying yes.
As the life fades away, the ocean still sways,
My body now depressed, drifting with the waves.
Life moves on as this body washes ashore,
To see that beach that I knew once more.

Isaac Rios Poem
I promised a poem for you one day
Before I knew it you went away
Now just memories of you I hold
I'd do it anyway, to myself I told
What once was love is now an end
From whom I called my best friend
My life I changed, and still I would
To give this to you, I wish I could
We're worlds apart, that won't change
A life so lonely, yet not so strange
Your birthday I missed to help a friend
But its you I miss in the end

Isaac Rios Poem
From mountains high to lakes below,
The glaciers melt their winter snow,
Spring emerges much to show.
To re-awaken from its sleep,
Life continues, not ours to keep,
Spring jumps closer with a leap.
Fauna and flora everywhere,
With whom this planet we must share,
As spring season fills the air.
While mountains are now bountiful,
And sunshine feeling magical,
Springtime brings new life in full.

Isaac Rios Poem
Kindness begets more kindness
It is a free gift to you
Pass it on
Let the next person appreciate the love
So they may reciprocate
More love
A small light
Shines brightest in the darkness
Illuminating everything around it
Like the stars in the night sky
Be a light that never dies
Someone will appreciate your luminescence shining through the night
With awe
And aspiration to be
A light that does not wither
For they now know the power
That love holds
