Leissa Vyizigiro Poem
Do you ever dream of summer
The hot, lazy days
The dandelions, the sunflowers
The long walks under the cool breezy sky
The trees, purple, orange, yellow, green
You wanted nothing but to freeze time
Do you ever dream of summer
Even long after we fell
Fall stripped us of every color
Winter came along and froze the staggering
With heavy winds, and cold lashes of December
Slowly we forgot how summer felt
Do you ever dream of summer
When upon us came spring
With promises of light and hope
Together we tended the grayed areas
After the raging storms
Light seeped though, birthing summer we long sought for
