Dream and Reality

Dream and Reality
In my dreams, you are a reality,
I can feel you the way I want,
In my dreams, we have stability,
As sweet memories don’t haunt.

But in reality, you are a distant dream,
Untouched for so long,
In reality, I don’t flow along your stream,
We are different tunes of the same song.

Oft, the days are spent in dreaming of you,
My conscious and unconscious rely,
Oft, the days I think I’ve found my beau,
My love is something that money can’t buy.

Seldom, in reality do we collide,
With anxious days and nights,
Seldom, in reality we would abide;
I shudder with thoughts of changing sights.

In dreams, you come to me in fragments,
Failing to capture your essence,
In dreams, I am harrowing with rents:
Since I am not a person of affluence.

Oh! When will my dream and reality merge?
Even Cupid is in debt of arrows!
When will I convey my upsurge?
As Aphrodite sends her flock of sparrows.

The day, I stop dreaming of you—
My thoughts would be dead.
The day, old is exchanged by new—
I should slumber on an empty head.

A Child's Rules

Every morning seems to be a rush!
It starts with toothpaste and brush.
I get ready for school—
Maintaining my daily rule.
I usually get into my car,
Since my school is too far.

As the class slowly begins,
My head is stung with knowledge pins!
I try to catch up with the speed,
Teachers give a tedious read.

I so long for the lunch break,
Want to shatter the system that’s fake!
I get tired of the rat race,
I find everything is a mess.

Still, I will have to pretend,
To fit in, I will have to bend.
Good habits must quickly turn—
Otherwise the society will spurn!

So, I follow my daily rule,
So, I obediently go to school,
So, my parents love me—
That is my ultimate glee.

Summer Appetite

On a summer’s day,
Drowsily as I lay;
On my soft bed,
On an empty head;
Eating all the muffins away!

Inside the Head

I have something to say
These days I don’t pray
As painters paint the sun grey
The waters don’t caress the bay.

Light or dark whatever we follow
With gay faces hiding minds hollow
Tranquilizers seem best to swallow
As the world looks fine and mellow

Lovers don’t vow each other’s trust
Love is driven by the wing of lust
As flesh and bone dissolve in dust
It is better to live as metal-cast

The fog, the mist, inside the head
Destroys the sleep while in bed
Men becoming so power-fed
Deep within we all are dead

An Act of Kindness

The skinny boy on the street,
Begging for a penny to eat,
Stood hungry by the cake stall,
As he heard the Baker’s call.
One day, a plumpy kid with shiny shoes,
Hearing that call, bought the creamiest mousse.
The skinny boy glared at the plumpy meat!
While he munched on his dry milk- biscuit.
Suddenly when two puppies start to bite,
That kid's shiny shoes with much delight!
 Annoyed by the puppies’ chewing,
The plumpy kid started shooing;
When the skinny boy hugs and feeds,
His own biscuit sacrificing the needs;
Showing the puppies what kindness is,
As Love gives Wealth a tease!
So, just being rich can’t make you kind,
Unless an infinite love dwells in your mind.

Insecured Smoke

Your sun-tanned skin,
On which I am high,
Those curls and smoke-stained lips—
Have drugged me long;
Wet afternoons and your hazel eyes—
Immersed me into the foggy fountain!
Our body fluids are well acquainted,
Yet our minds are lost in an intoxicating fume!

A Dot

If I were a dot,
I’d end Misery at one shot,
As Mirth would tie the knot.
If I were a dot,
I’d remove the human’s defective clot,
Bringing back the love they forgot.
If I were a dot,
I’d witness the beginning of a lot,
Of the virtues that we have got.
If were a dot,
A dot,
A dot…
Let the greedy race rot!

Human Nature

A good human
But a flawed lover
A good soul
But still a tormentor
A good mask
But also a mind gamer
This is human nature
Contradictory and contagious
Yet full of life

The Saviour

“A man can be destroyed but not defeated.”
~ Ernest Hemingway, (The Old Man and the Sea)
The Messiah, the saviour,
Oh, Lord! What have we done?
Killing the man with our own sins,
The untold misery that we have spun!
The redeemer, the saviour,
Oh, Lord! Our prayers are gone.
Thorns and nails on the innocent,
Our job is to hide and run!
Who is to be blamed?
A man or a woman?
A wolf or a fish?
Mortals fight, Christ is maimed!
Remember the hung Albatross?
A knife for a knife,
The vicious cycle never leaves us!
Still it is only for Christ
A man stands up,
Though regretting the apple-heist,
He is saved to live!
The Prophet, the saviour,
Every man bears his blood!
Destroyed, never defeated,
Every man must fight the flood.
