Eliza Cannon Poem
You follow the rat races,
Climbing ladders that never end,
Surrounded by faces,
But not one you could call friend,
You stare hungrily at your reflection,
Picking apart your every inch,
Believing beauty leads to connection,
But would it save you in a pinch?
You spend like there's no tomorrow,
Yet for the poor you've naught to spare,
But if it became your turn to borrow,
Would it shock you when none will care,
You trust blindly in your societies,
That if you do it all you will win,
But you end up drowning in anxieties,
From the emptiness you feel within.

Eliza Cannon Poem
Wake your inner song,
As its melody so kindly speaks,
Bathe in the warm sun,
as it dances gently on your cheeks,
Open up your tired eyes,
As their passion filled fires glow,
Touch the tree of life,
As its branches ever higher grow,
Exhale your bated breath,
As its soft breeze soothingly blows,
Kiss the blooming rose,
As its roots tickle beneath your toes,
Embrace your deeper peace,
As your heart grows ever fonder,
Massage your weary feet,
As they'll support you when you wander.

Rose cheeks chapped lips,
Whispers wrapped in whisps of white,
Winter's cold last bite,

Eliza Cannon Poem
Thoughts of days long gone,
And more yet to come,
Swim drunkenly inside my head,
As I lay down for bed,
Delicate songs echo through the air,
Embracing my emotions,
In a delightful dance of realization,
To melodies of relaxation,
Morning softly peeks over the horizon,
Spilling through my window,
Rippling against my skin like waves,
Mesmerized by the paths it paves,
A flower resting against my breast,
Kissing my cheek lightly,
Tucking away its thorns in revelation,
As we drift away towards sleeps anticipation.

Eliza Cannon Poem
Pastel clouds drifting across the painted heavens,
On a tranquil journey that never slows,
How many have seen the same whisps of white,
Floating radiantly against astronomy's lightly glows,
Will we ever know?
Chestnuts knocking as they hit the ground,
Golden orbs of life, just watch them fall,
For a moment, appreciate their significant role,
How many will become trees and grow so tall?
The smell of grass wafting across the wind,
the rain pitter pattering against the roof,
While a contemplative soul stirs their tea,
Sipping upon the universe's mysteries,
Pondering the beauty of it all.

Eliza Cannon Poem
when will the misery dissapear,
why cant i just block the terrors out?
my life will never be clear,
my words are never heard even if i shout,
the pain of a thousand spears,
i've drifted from the correct route,
subdue the tears,
i've lost what my life's about,
i've been walking this path for so long,
i'm losing touch with me,
how could a life go so wrong,
i wish upon a wishing tree,
but i must stay strong,
till my soul is set free,
when did it all fade,
why was i unaware,
a mind to invade,
there's none i can spare,
all the dreams i made,
have vanished into thin air,
trust must have a concept,
one i will never visualize,
a secret meant to be kept,
why havent i realized,
those terrors never slept,
hiding behind a disguise,
oh the tears i've wept,
and all the abandoned tries,
my heart wonders why,
time will never stop,
why the fox is always sly,
in dispair to my knees i drop,
so many tears left to cry,
why am i just a prop,
sheltered from the blue sky,
trapped in a cycle that will never stop,

Eliza Cannon Poem
Forgiveness isn't forgetting,
Its letting go,
Its opening your doors,
The ones you closed in your heart,
When someone you trusted,
Ripped it apart,
Its letting go of your guilt,
And all the blame you harbor,
For not seeing through,
Someone's nefarious plans for you,
Open those doors,
They don't unleash vulnerability,
they give life to possibilities,
The ones the betrayer stole from you,
For love, happiness, and company,
Forgiveness is not saying you'll stay,
Its having the strength to walk away,
And tell yourself doing so is okay,
And stop wasting away with your pain button on replay,
Forgiveness is the key,
So you can move on,
And be happy.

Eliza Cannon Poem
The planet is in pain,
She's crying every day,
Have we all just gone insane,
For Our cruelty she cannot sway,
The trees creak with alarm,
As their bodies we still borrow,
All we bring is harm,
And a doom upon tomorrow,
Will the whispers in the leaves,
Or The roars in the seas,
Reach humanities theives,
Or fall to the ground like the trees,
Will we ever have enough,
Will we realize what we've done,
Or will it just get rough,
When we burn up with the sun?

Eliza Cannon Poem
An orchestra of silence,
engulfed by the clever dark,
a blood-bath of violence,
triggered by a black remark.
A shadow in a cage,
slave to the devil's task,
a burning flame of rage,
concealed behind a mask.
Abandoning humanity,
and the cruel light of day,
his soul of pure insanity,
feeds on those who stray.
A wallowing spirit of despair,
unable to sense or feel,
Tragedy comes to those who stare,
basking in murder's sick appeal.
Relishing in their final breath,
while Satan casts his spell,
and in the darkness lingers...
the lonesome angel in hell.

Eliza Cannon Poem
Sadness is a key,
To secrets locked within,
The clarity to see,
What lies beneath the skin,
Love is the anchor,
To raise you up from naught,
Inspiring you to hanker,
For passions you have sought,
Anger is the embers,
That protects your truest being,
It always remembers,
That strength is always freeing,
Hope are your wings,
That carry you through the dark,
Cherishing the good things,
And lighting your inner spark.
