Danielle North Poem
It’s all downhill from here,
Bruised knees
And blacked up eyes
Where hidden secrets
Go to die.
Behind locked doors,
Without any keys
Remain untold truths
That hold no meaning.
It’s that whispered no
That disappears
In one split second
All filled with tears.
And that shaky voice
Which simply cannot scream
Trapped in my head
And I’m scared to dream,
Of going uphill
And escaping this sorrow
Of running away
And facing tomorrow
So lock up the secrets
And lock up my soul
In a cage of misery
That blossomed from hope
Hoping that my words meant something
When really the word no meant nothing.
