Ihave Seen the Demons

Prologue to I Have Seen The Demons

There is a darkness, which dwells inside of me...
one in which no light can dwell.
I wish that the powers of my spirit
could reach to touch the light outside
Of my inner cavern,
then the darkness might be gone away.

Our own madness is not usually from the heart but from the head...
I have seen the demons,
I have heard them call my name.
Listening to their voices in the late of the night,
it was often the same as thunder clapping
& a never ending darkness
which might have became a constant.
They would often come to me
& I would feel a great shame.
They, cackling like looming, hapless witches
whispering secret incantations
 over their smoking cauldrons
and I would be afraid, ever so afraid!
But, by a special grace,
I was always able to cover my ears
& call to my God, my friend & save face.
This cup was thus always taken from me.
So, in the deepest &darkest of the nights
& in the most endless of raging & weary seas,
when, otherwise, there seems no relief from injury
or from the seeming infinite inner & outer insanity---
call out. Cry out loudly in a sound endlessly multiplied,
so, in your heart it cannot be denied
the sincerity & truth with which you cry---
And a grand & gracious witness will sigh
“God is here, right here, and do not be afraid!"
Then, be very quiet & still & feel the truth of
His light wrapping about you tenderly.
He will hold you close as his precious and ever loved child
Who is draped in a swaddling blanket,
his arms gripping you ever so tightly & ever so safe...
his love being fully unconditional,
his understandings of you being ever complete.
Know, at this time, now and forevermore,
there is nothing more to fear.
Byron from Canto III--
"How to make madness beautiful and cast
O’er erring deeds and thoughts a heavenly hews."

To My Niece

Each of our lives are difficult journeys,
the strength to forgive and walk on
is a powerful thing!
How long do we punish those who have hurt us?
Their punishment will come upon them freely
without our help.
It is in forgiveness that we can find freedom---
a freedom our inner souls thirst for!
When, one day, you feel an endless hunger
One that no food will satisfy
A thirst no drink will quench---
Understand it is your inner soul
Telling you distinctly that it is past time to forgive.

Life's Choices

We must honor what is in our hearts,
And live in harmony with
all parts of the world around us.
I honor the entire world.
I choose not to desecrate my sacred
Mother Earth out of my own stupidity and selfishness.
I allow birth, death, and rebirth to live as one entity.
I know father & mother, yin & yang, discipline & compassion.
I know I must find balance in their being woven together,
as the sky must balance its weaving with the earth.
I choose freely to help keep this earth clean & healthy and
I am able to understand that her well-being equals my own well-being.
I know that knowledge and growth and understanding
come from experience, not from easy answers.
I choose not be prejudice against others
who are a different race or religion, merely
because my own vision is so limited in comparison
to the vastness of this diverse cosmos.
I allow the intricate family of the Universe
which is so close to my own soul,
to live peacefully & fruitfully together.
I pray that the fabric of who I am can be a messenger.
I hope that the fabric of each of us can be woven
together with the colors of the Universe,
thus making happiness, fulfillment and prosperity ours.
The weaving, in this way being synchronized will allow us
to find an important personal & collective balance.
The Universe will then come together in
peace & harmony as we are able
to work in unison and in sincerity.
It is up to us each to make the balance or tip the scale!

Many Angel's In My Heart Are Held

Many Angels In My Heart Are Held
Many angels in my heart are held ---
One to keep you & I safe by night & day;
Another to hold us protected & an array;
Of others that guard all those I love.

They settle like a gentle dove
Upon our hearts or on our brow
   If we will but allow
them the space to do their work.

Sanity or insanity, which do I choose,
 In life or death I cannot loose;
Pain is a bumpy road and ride
It would be nice to know you’re on my side.

The limits of this life are overwhelming at times,
But I can still hear clearly a bell in heaven chimes,
Telling me the great power of love
Which reaches across all abysses from above---

One mighty, eternal law of love
Sent to us as a gift from above,
As serene & natural as life and death
We will know it fully when we draw our last breath.

As big as my heart, as wide as the heaven above,
After all is gone what will remain is love;
Touching each of us & in our hearts it does meld
For the many angels in my heart are held.
