Party Life

Bright lights flashing,
music pounding,
drinks flowing,
guys comeing, guys going
no inhabitions,
no cares at all,
no one get hurts when they don't take the chance to fall,
taking chances
that you never would have before,
acting careless and stupid
yet feeling so unsure,
singing to the music,
dancing to the beat,
a different bar on a different night,
cowboys and bikers
and lots of fights,
meeting new people,
making new friends
being so happy
until the party life ends.

Disappear

The rain glistened on the window
sliding, stirring
making pictures on the glass
as the tears poured down her cheeks,
running down, blurring the letter below,
smudging the words, distorting the letters
not that he would read it anyway,
how she wished she were a raindrop
running freely down the glass
until at last it disappeared.
The snow fell silently upon the glass,
making no sound,
like thieves in the night
how she wished that she too
were a silent snowflake,
yet in a way she was,
her heart was melted,
her soul near froze
no one heard her quiet screams of pain
and soon she too would disappear.

Winters Loss

the moonlight glistened
against the freshly fallen snow,
as we walked we held hands
our coats were no protection
against the winters wind,
we loved then,
and were one on that cold winters night
but as the night faded and the daylight began to break
once again we had to part
you drove home in your battered old chevy,
the one we used to laugh about,
but the dead of winter got you
and you never made it home,
the old, worn tires lost their traction
on the snow covered ice,
they lost their grip
and skidded out of control,
they tell me you died instantly
for you their was no pain,
the pain of losing you is all mine
I still feel the love for you I had then,
death holds no bars
and it takes whomever it wants.
