I never thought you'd be the one to walk away,
When you promised me that you would always stay,
To stand by my side, through the good and the bad
I guess I imagined all that I think we had.
I'm tired of crying for someone who does care,
You ended it with a text like some elicit affair,
Didn't have the courage to say it to my face,
Why didn't you do it sooner if that was the case.
You let me fall for you, to give you my heart,
But all of a sudden we are better off as friends and it all falls apart.
I broke down every wall I put up just for you,
I gave you a part of my heart and you've left a tattoo.
Now I'm angry at the world,
As the pain inside beings to unfurl.
I thought you were the one, my forever,
The person to plan a future with, but you only saw a lover.
I thought I'd found someone who would stay through all the crap,
When you said its over, it was more painful than a slap.
I was wrong, its time to put you behind me,
To look to the future, that is bright and free.
I'll probably always love you, no matter the pain you caused,
And right now it feels like my life has paused.
But I'll smile again, I'll laugh again and one day I'll love again
