Spike Lewis Poem
I feel i need to escape, Get away for a while,
Evaluate my life, Try to regain my smile,
It's been lost, In a deep dark and distant place, Along with distant memories of
your beautiful face,
And as i sit, Staring out of a window into a world that seems to have no place for
me, Depression creeps forward, How pathetic can i possibly be,
Yet it just seems that no matter how hard i try, I can't help but wonder why,
Wonder why my step-father lost his life before he even reached fourty-five,
And wonder why, My real father is the real reason why, My baby brother died
before he even came to life, One kick to the stomach of my mother and it was the
long goodbye,
I just wish i could turn back the hands of time,
I'd take the cuff of my sleeve and i'd dry my mother's eyes, Wipe away every single
tear she cried,
But i can't, So let's just leave that at that, i think iv'e said enough about that
woman beating cold hearted twat,
Now you see, Im in right kind of frame of mind to just put pen to paper and
express my feeling's through rhme,
Because when i write, I write with a passion, Not like all these other writers who
just follow the fashions,
My words, They come from an unknown place within me, A place so deep not
even the devil could reach me,
Ive been taught things no teacher could teach me, Seen things no person should
ever see,
Believe me,
This pen in my hand is the key, The key that allows my trye inner feeling's to be
set free.
