Irish Cycle

I often saw a shamrock
in the green beneath her eye
although she wasn't lucky
when my whiskey made her cry.

She chased me through the springtime
and I held her love so bold
we drank the autumn colors
so the bards have all been told.

The Beltane fires would cast her
shadow up to kiss the sky
with the oak and holly's laughter
where the God's and love won't die.

Irish Love Blessing

In the fountain of our longing,
In the ache that is our core,
May we see each our hearts belonging,
When it knocks on our front door.

Spirit Kiss

A spirit's not a shadow,
it engulfs your love and heart,
it will guide the path out for you,
while our lips are still apart.

Second Choice

If you had a second choice,
time to view and change and error,
would you call with bated voice,
to a bonny lass so fairer?

Would you pull the clockwork back,
stop the Autumn leaves from falling,
seize the reapers hood so slack,
pull him from his date of calling?

Would you pull from starry sky,
set the planets off asunder,
make the heavens answer why,
there's no answer when you wonder?

Would you listen if you knew,
would you set this lonely error,
on a shelf that's painted blue,
like her bonny eyes so fairer?

Hard Row To Hoe

See her in the flowers,
that she walks by everyday,
listen to the meadowlark,
and what he has to say.

Feel the Earth that's turning,
so your heart can be set free,
see these words are burning,
written hastily by me.

Leave behind the hardship,
the bitter clouds of woe,
follow down your family,
where your seeds will surely grow.

Seek the book for guidance,
may the Lord now take your hand,
no need to strive for perfect,
for your heart he'll understand.

Whiskey's Verse

She never smelled like whiskey
I always made her cry
I thought that she would miss me
In my Irish lullaby.

I saw her in the bottle
I turned up to quench my fire
My love it burned full-throttle
Just enough to ease her ire.

She'll never age or leave me
In my heart between the lie
May the words be never easy
In my Irish lullaby.

Holy Words

Snuggled deep to set the tone,
my strength and pause will paint the picture,
amid my words the heart will roam,
like aimless Gods inside her scripture.

The words are mine to signify,
her loss,her love,her silent hope,
and in them may she rectify.
the letters in her passions scope.

Heaven's Folly

I'm everything she wants-
(armor not included)
Come upon this very day-
(from my last stand)
I shine like heaven's gate-
(although deluded)
I watch her twist the heart -
(thats in my hand)

St. Peter spoke so softly-
(an angel did command)
A cherub shot an arrow-
(just for me)
I looked upon the wound-
(the blood in my left hand)
And knew at once my love -
(could never be)

I saw her slip a cry-
(then swallowing her ire)
The ballet slippers-
( brush upon the cloud)
The moon shall turn its face-
(from my desire)
The shadow is my loss-
(and only shroud)
