Moving On From Divorce

Please don't try to call me back
   to all those wasted years;
Of empty dreams now long forgot
   and memories filled with tears.

For me there are no yesterdays
   my past has come and gone.
Only tomorrows call me now
   and God's grace will see me on.

And though you'll never see them,
   the scars remain for me to know;
without the pruning of the branches
   the tree would never grow.
