Priceless

I treat you with the utmost care.
I wear these white gloves to handle you.

As you were fragile,
easily dinged,
and breakable.

I didn't do it because
I was frightened,
I did it for you.

But now I see
the hairline cracks,
the chipped paint.

I let too much happen to you,
I wasn't looking at the
big picture.

While I thought I protected you,
I thought I was doing you a favor,
when in reality,
I did you a disservice.

But now, the gloves are off,
and I will hold onto you
as I should have,
from the start.

For you are too priceless
to treat otherwise.

For Good

You told me somethings,
I thought I would never hear.

But now,
they come to the forefront.

You tell me you don't
want meaningless sex.

So what exactly is he?
You're not going to
marry him either.

So why is he treated differently?

I know you have reasons.
I know you have a choice.

But he's not the same guy.
He no longer serves that purpose
you had for him.
He became more.

But the conversations are
no longer about you to a degree.
It's about sex.

The meaningful conversations you had,
have been corrupted.
They do not hold value as they once did.

What you sought was a friend,
and what you found was a lover.

And you go to end it,
but it's not easy.

You need to let go.
You know you do.

It's a cycle that needs to stop.
If you continue this,
you will hate yourself for it.

Instead of nipping it now,
it might be a conversation
we have next month.

You need to see it
as I do.

You need to move on,
and leave the ties broken,
for good.
