It's Reality

It's reality - that this world will come to an end
It's reality - that everyone has a friend.

It's reality - that things can be better
It's reality - that sadness could be sadder.

It's reality - that God made man
It's reality - to survive if you can.

It's reality - to make a go in life
It's also reality - to think twice.

It's reality - to have a sense of touch
It's sure enough reality - to love someone too much.

It's reality - that a tide is high
It's also reality - to see a grown man cry.

It's reality - to keep on growing
And it's reality - to keep on knowing.

It's reality - to push and strive
And it's also reality - to stay alive..

Friends

Remember the night we first met?
A simple introduction - and that was that!
But you kept your eyes on me - I learned in the end
Because you really want be a very special friend.

Yes, I was scared
Grinding my teeth - rolling my eyes
But I learned later - you were the nicest of guys.

So time passed by - we met again
Then it was I who wanted to be
Your special friend.

Well, I think we're special friends
And I want it to last
It looks like fate has joined us
The die is cast.

You give me the greatest joys
That anyone could ask for
Our special friendship
Who could ask for more?

The Silence Is My Stage

I find it most difficult to write
When I am mentally disturbed
I've been sitting here for an hour
And I haven't written a word.

My mind is cluttered
With unimportant things
Then I have to leave my desk
Just because the telephone rings.

What makes it so bad
Is when I answered the call
It was a phone recording
It wasn't anyone at all.

Once again I get started
With pen in hand
There goes the ring
Of the telephone again.

I will not answer it
I just will not
But this continuous ringing
Has got to come to a stop.

I'll unplug the telephone
I'll turn down the ringer
Better yet! I'll put the answering service on
All it takes is a touch of a finger.

Finally, I have peace of mind.
Complete silence - and plenty of time.

The writing goes well
There is page after page
I don't want to stop
The silence is my stage.

Now That the Work Is Done

Now that the work is done
I can relax for awhile - and the have some fun.

Here and there - I run about the house
Then off to do some shopping - all about.

Now I can relax -and put up my feet
You can believe - the work was no treat.

Body aching - feet and back
Thank goodness it's over - thanks for the slack.

To recline back - on a sofa so soft
Feel the aches ease away - the pressure is off.

Before you know it - you're so at ease
Next thing you know - you have fallen asleep.

Aah! What a wonderful rest from the day
Of unlimited work - and no extra pay.

Now that I've had my rest and a nap
Thank goodness the work was over - before I snapped.

Just to snap - could have ruined a good day
It could have hurt peoples feelings along the way.

Now that the work is done - I look to a new day
As I lay me down to sleep - to the Lord I pray.

My Prayer

My dear Father, who art in Heaven
Oh, how I need You today--more than yesterday
Hallowed be Thy name---the name of Jesus
Lord, I need you now and always.

I've been lonely--and I've been sad
I've been angry--and I've been mad
My heart's been heavy--my thoughts impure
I kneel to pray--dear Jesus, you are the cure.

My dear Father, who art in Heaven
I know I can always turn to You
Hallowed be Thy name--the name of Jesus
Blessed Jesus--You are the cure.

I pray to feel Your presence surround me
I pray to feel Your love seep through
My mind, my body, and my soul
I kneel to pray, dear Jesus, to You.

Forgive me, dear Father, who art in Heaven
Forgive me, Lord Jesus, of my sins
Hallowed be Thy name, the name of Jesus
As I kneel down to pray--Amen.

I Just Followed My Heart

When I first saw you
It didn't happen from the start
I took another look, and
I just followed my heart.

You were just another Guy
Joining the crowd at-large
The second time I saw you
I just followed my heart.

I realized the relationship
Negative - on my part
But, when I saw you the third time
I just followed heart

I put my arms around you
"I missed you" I harked
I went on my merry way, and
I just followed my heart.

You showed again; and right on time
You rode me in your car
We laughed and talked; just like friends, so
I just followed my heart

In times of sadness - you were around
Participating and doing your part
You took me for another wild ride, and
I just followed my heart.

My feelings for you began to grow
I felt like a star
You suggested that I don't get serious, but
I just followed my heart.

The moments we spent together
In the sunlight and the dark
Were the natural feelings of love
I just followed my heart.

Sunshine

Sun - shine all over me
Beautiful glow and vitality
Sun - shine on me with your beauty.

Give me the warmth - the energy
Give me the light to clearly see
How good life can really be.

Sunshine - so beautifully aglow
Shine on to let me know
That - so long as there is light
A splendid love can grow.

Sunshine - shining so bright
Full of energy - so full of light
Sunshine - all over me
Fill me with love's energy.

Fill the heat - fill the need
Fill the desire to succeed
Fill me with your vitality.

Where Is the Love

Where is the love that I've been needing?
Where is the love you promised me?
Where is the love that's been a long time passing?
Where is your love for me?

I see you in passing
My heart skips a beat
But, we're too far apart
To even speak.

We've got to get it together
Live our life - romantically
Together we can fix it
Remember your love for me?

We yearn to get together
To fulfill our hearts desires
And when we get together
Our love is set on fire.

Where is the love I've been waiting for?
Where is the love you guaranteed?
Where is the love we yearned for?
Where is your love for me?

Like

Eyes that shine bright in the night
Bright eyes - brighten up my day
Just like the warmth on a summer night
Let love come my way.

Like the light of the moon in the midnight
Like the sun on a crisp spring day
Let the love flow within its rights
Let the love come my way.

Like the feeling of a warm raindrop
Like the feeling of morning dew
Let me touch the soul that's hot
Let love pass on through.

Like the wind that blows briskly
Like the stars in the night
The "Book of Knowledge" knows
To let love make it right.

Like a strawberry - juicy
As a rose - smelling sweet
Like the mellow sound of music
Lives a love - so unique.

Like a portrait - featured well
With priceless worth - beyond compare
Like music - a sweet melody
For a love so rare.

Like a bronze beauty - precious as gold
Whose existence is more valuable than life
The look in your eyes - so bright
As love will make it right.

Feelings

While sitting here - starring at you
I become all smiles
Your beauty - your smile - and all of you
Makes being with you worthwhile.

My thoughts are all at positive points
My feelings are for real
Even though you probably won't
I know I always will.

So, in the end of my dreams
You notice all the sadness
You will know that I am in
The method of the madness.

Suffering the pains of leaving you
You can see it all over my face
Hoping that you will always remember
That I love you at any rate.

I feel our love will come to an end
And we'll both go our separate ways
So then, we'll only be friends
And face the lonely world by each day.
