I Remember

I REMEMBER
I remember how the branches of the gulmohar tree,
Moved hastily during the time of wet seasons of the year
The soft orange flowers fell like snow on the ground
Giving a picture of a new sunset, as if the sun rose from the ground
The tree stood high bearing all the harshness of the weather giving shelter to those
Under him,
It was in front of the place where I grew up, seeing the never ending beauty of it
I admired it every day and in all seasons, but the beauty would never fade away.
The dripping of water dip by dip from the leaves, as if the pearls from an oysters mouth,
As if the dew of the morning, fresh and new.
The branches spreading all over, some to my place even, shedding its orange petals all over,
I don’t remember how many flowers I fetched from the tree but I still remember the gulmohar tree,
The tree grew higher every time, having more orange petals over it and its beauty became more refined.
The hustling and buzzing sound of the leaves when the wind blew, felt sometimes as if the tree,
Now has a voice of its own, and it narrates proudly about its own majestic beauty.
Some sparrows and parrots had their nest over it, and the chirping sound of the birds added a jingle to the tree.
The tree reminds me still, of my childhood days, playing around it, is one of the best memories I have,
The tree is a witness of the generations, it saw what passed by, and will be seeing the future.
The gulmohar tree has still got the deep orange colour and a soft sweet smell which it once had,
Smelling it would bring me memories back.
It is still there, often I pass by it, and still I take the orange flowers back
I still remember the gulmohar tree………………………

The River

The gush water in early spring
From the rivers that run down the valley of mine.
I shall call she, because she is like mother to me.
It flows down the mountain top,
 And reaches the town.
The river is a goddess to all,
Where she flows with pride.
 She is calm and composed,
Like Ceto, the goddess.
Down and down it flows through the villages, blessing
 people with water and food.
She is like a crystal, pure and untouched till now.
I came to see her, one day, it has been long till I saw her.
What now i see is a different picture of her, which is ravished.
The river which I worshipped, is impure.
It is been despoiled.
I do not hear the mystical sound now,
But cry of her helplessness.
The magic is disappeared, I cannot feel her.
Her integrity is lost,
She is left with endless sorrow.
 What do i do now,
 Nothing!
 But remember her in memory.

Solitude

I stand alone on a mountain hill,
Without no one by my side.
I feel empty and strange among so many out there.
It feels so quite inside,
It is indeed lonely out there.
Solitude is my friend and call for it all long.
I feel the strangeness of loneliness,
But here I stand, alone.
My hours go waste to think about,
The dullness of life.
The winds I hear, whisper me to be calm,
As there is hope to meet someone.
The dark clouds above me, remind me
Of a dull time.
The time which will not change,
And bring spring once again.
What should I do to polish my life?
Wait or find a way of my own.
I remember Robert Frost, who choose a road,
Less travelled and made his own path.
But sometimes I also think,
Is it funny and strange to be alone?
Or a moment of tranquillity.

What Is Spring To Me

April is a month, I call for
The month of harvest
The month of blooming
The month of re-generation,
The season which gives me the pleasure of,
Admiring the beauty of nature.
Fresh flowers bloom in all colours and smell.
The sweet melody of birds, chirping around my garden, singing,
Songs of pleasure.
It is the perfect month for the buzzing bees and humming birds,
That calls for spring.
There is whisper of love in air,
Which calls for an eternal union.
I feel this thrill of pleasure inside me,
As I want to feel it with every atom in my body.
Spring a month, of relief from harsh winters,
A hope of warmth this season.
There is joy and delight,
As if in the Garden of Eden.
There is something different about this season,
As if everything is right and nothing wrong.
Its feels like God’s heaven on Earth,
As if he is blessing the land with his name.
The ray of sunlight,
Remind me of a new day, a new start.
Forgetting all the roughness of winter,
And embracing colourful spring, this season.

Awaiting Storm

Cold winds blow again...
Sun behind the clouds makes me feel cold again...
Is it a storm that is about to begin again...
But I fear the one inside me...
that may come again...
I fear the jilt of winds that will stoop me again...
Thou winter wind, freeze me once again...
As I fear the storm inside me again...
No one has seen the winds, but I feel them inside me...
The frosty winds blow my hair, adhere to freeze me...
Until I drop to ice...
The storm approches gradually...
Not sure I am wheather inside me or the one I feel outside.
The wind is shrill wanting to pierce me hard again...
But I fear the one inside me...
Which is pounding harder.
The wind is swriling, divinely inside me...
Wanting to explode.
My hot tears, ready to flow with the wind
Will freeze every man on earth.
For they have done enough to Us...
I am no longer his, but a free wind ready to sweep.
For I am the wind, he needs to fear.
