Tosanmi Gbenebitse-Daniel Poem
LUSTFUL YOUTH
The world is filled with vanities
The lust of the eyes and flesh in entirety
Behold how the great and mighty has fallen
Because of beautiful maidens
The daughters of Jezebel have been equipped
To strip every man his pedigree
Our youth have fallen victims
Just for a night fling
Youths who ought to be roofs to nation’s building
Are now nothing, but fools in area meetings
Unlike wools made ultimately for knitting
The youth has lost their place in divine space
And they have also relocated from Heaven’s gate
Awaiting the choice of fate
Masters has been reduced to servants
Heirs have lost their place with their father
Why waste thy years
And tomorrow be in tears
In the name of wordily enjoyments
Why sell your tomorrow?
In order to live for today
When will you answer the call of the creator?
Turn, from your lustful desires
The word of God is all you truly require
For eternal life and peace in paradise

Tosanmi Gbenebitse-Daniel Poem
THE STING OF DEATH
Death why provoke us to tears?
There are lot of unfinished works
But still you pierce
What are these you have wrought?
Your unannounced visits can’t be pardoned
You lack respect for the age of victims
This is extremely disheartening
You have taking your tolls in cities
And increased graves in graveyard
Dead bodies have outnumbered Mortuaries
Lots of broken promises
Dry lands have been made Seas
From tears of successors
You have wrecked enough havoc
And now the time approaches
When your sting will no longer be felt
When our heels would not be bruised
And you would have a taste of your medicine

Tosanmi Gbenebitse-Daniel Poem
FOOL ME ONCE
I was obsessed, with friendship
I laid the foundation of my life, around it
Joy was continually aboard with me, even in township
I was always appeased, by its ever increasing heat
Then at once, it seemed the clock stopped ticking
When there occurred a change in place
Ever since, I suffered from heart ache
And an encroaching solitude
I put up a fight fate, for pulling down my foundations
But a loner like me, couldn’t win
My opponent vehemently says, it’s for the greater good
And this time, he swore I wasn’t fooled
Struggling with thoughts, of past fun fare
I realized, I had befriended myself
As none I was warring for, was doing same
The downpour of my tears, was unending
I braced myself, with all courage
I admitted, that fate was being truthful
As I had only being fooled, once
And surely, it’s will be the last.

Tosanmi Gbenebitse-Daniel Poem
AN OUTSTANDING SPIRIT
I would crave your indulgence
To the book of Daniel
So you will see the need
For the spirit of God to hover around your niche
You lack wisdom
And you refuse to seek
From the one who gives it liberally
You want to be like Daniel
And yet you decide to feed on the King’s meat
Bowing your needs to the king’s feet
You ought to be above
But you are beneath
It’s all because you lack what is necessary
That’s an excellent spirit
The Lord is searching for those to breathe on
It seems the likes of Daniel are no more
Children of God have me failures
This is indeed an error
It’s time to turn to God to help us
So that we can do exploits
In our very own generation
It’s not by power nor by might
But by the Spirit of God.
