Lilly Shaw Poem
A gold and green country,
An unbearable sun.
Blue waves crashing down,
Young children having fun.
Birds cascading from the sky,
A cacophony of cries.
The smell of hot sausages,
Gradually welcomes the flies.
Atop of the mountains,
A shimmering blue mist.
An avalanche of snow,
Floating slowly into abyss.
Leaves litter the ground,
Scattering the dirt.
The flowers drop seeds,
Ready to spurt.
For this is a golden country,
Beautiful in what we are.
With seasons and scents,
This is Australia.
