Finished reading, he tossed the (Wall Street) Journal into the urinal
I followed another rabbit hole this morning and stumbled upon this article from ‘The Atlantic. I won’t give you the author’s name, though I’m sure a quick search on google would reveal it. There was a line in the 4th paragraph that reads, “They always bend a knee”, ‘he reportedly told someone.’ When we hear complaints about ‘fake news’ or ‘yellow journalism’ this is exactly what they mean. I don’t know about you, but back in my day any fact had to be double checked and verified. A reporter couldn’t just make stuff up. This guy didn’t even bother to hide it. He could have at least made up some fake name and say, according to Remo Rastinhouse. The problem is, as modern Americans, 50 percent of us will believe him. See how easy it was for me to create that fact.
Our pres. Joe Biden
reportedly told someone
send me your money
Walking here and there,
Scrounging for messages of Care,
Journalists of the day.
Standing by at door or gate
Spirited, to interrogate the great.
A long-serving microphone,
Miking words from those interviewed,
And an esteemed bagged camcorder on the shoulder;
Always await eventual days
So they’d pace with grace
But, their presentations tremble under status’ feet
Whereto their integrity doth greet.
Their job hence counts slackness of Justice:
That if they are to question a poor fellow,
They’ll do it diligently till he’s zero
But if they are to question a rich man,
Minister or president in particular,
The ‘eye-box’ is covered with red cloth,
Their journals closed,
And their inkers halt;
They’ll compromise till he’s out of any cases.
Sorry
They are!
Turning a blind eye to the rich’s injustices
And giving a bright eye to the poor’s…
Yellow Journalism eke in Africa?
Those Checkout Line Tabloids
By Elton Camp
Yellow journalism is still easy to find
It’s right there when you stand in line
Their only purpose is to make them sell
And don’t mind if some big lie they tell
They may attack one who’s underground
For with a lawyer he can’t come around
To call for proof what they said is true
Or to demand damages that they’ll rue
Yet the living are not entirely immune
And their integrity tabloids may impugn
The tabloid may to vile trickery resort
Inside say the headline is a false report
As if a victim of slander they do defend
To set things straight is all they intend
This type of journalism would disappear
If to it, the public would never come near
If tempted to buy one, please think again
Supporting them makes scoundrels win
No news is good news we’ve all heard that before
that said I’d like less bills when I open my mailbox door.
If it bleeds it leads with more than enough yellow journalism
where facts are shifted and twisted then shown through a tainted prism
then a little tease to keep you hanging through long commercial breaks
this isn’t the news we’re being abused and it’s giving me a headache.
They are on the verge of extinction
Now in reading them there is no fun
Electronic media rendered them redundant
Yellow journalism made them defunct
Like a beggar they hanker after ad
Their glamour of late has begun to fade
Editors now grope for thrilling news
And fill-up columns with their own views
Letters to the editor lack vigour
There is dearth of good articles
For contributors are meagre
There are no incentives for columnists
So they have begun to opt for tv superhits
Print media is virtually on oxygen
Even by its erstwhile fans it has been shun
Its news are dull and stale
And it survives solely on blackmail
