The lizard Wizard

Paranoia guides my gaze to the wall,
Where a dragon stands, fierce and tall.
His tongue flicks with a wicked gleam,
But something’s wrong no fiery fire stream.

He snarls, yet no flames arise,
And sorrow fills my heavy eyes.
"Why, oh dragon, where’s your fire?"
I ask, my heart bound with desire.

His eyes flare up, his fury loud,
Charging at me, dark and proud.
"Can’t you see, you foolish soul?
I’m no dragon, I’ve no such goal."

I’m a wizard, a lizard, lost in disguise,
No fire within, no soaring skies.
I’m just like you, beneath the lies.

Two creatures lost in thoughts of despair,
Floating through space, where stars grow old.

We drift through galaxies unknown,
A world of dust, but our thoughts our throne.

Our thoughts our throne
Our thoughts our throne..........

the super rich

The Super-rich

Wealthy people, rich men
find sitting on a heap of money only
is not fulfilling
Therefore, many wealthy men dabble in
something else, like car racing or dabbling
in gift cards promising a large sum of money
For the "richest man in the world" interest
is political, helping to shape the future
Elon Musk is the person who thinks he has
made the right choices, helping Trump
His adoration for Trump, based on the hero
worship and not about sound politics
He is an ingénue that makes him take side
even when he might be chasing
a white elephant.
Then again, should he succeed, he will get
blood on the tooth and dream big dreams
Since he is not born in the USA, change
the law and become president of the USA
In his mind, he is a wizard, a dreamer
who has had his fantasies come true
Since he tends to be autocratic
behavior might end up in the fascist camp
That is not what I wish on a potentially nice
person, like Elon Musk

Premium MemberSouvenirs From Volcanic Forest

He consulted a warlock, a wizard, a priest and a witch.
The witch finally asked “did you pick up something you shouldn’t have?”
He thought about this and remembered.
He had collected seashells, sticks, rocks, and soil from a national park.

"Kind of", he admitted.
“From Volcano National Park?” the witch asked him.
He nodded yes.
“You have to send it all back. Then your luck will change.”

He had not taken anything important, but his luck had changed.
His child had nearly succumbed from Covid-19, his wife left.
Sales were down by forty-six percent since he returned to the mainland.
He refused to do what she asked at first.

Then his mother and two uncles died.
A voice in his head said “send it back; send it back.”
When the box arrived at the post office in Hawaii they loaded it into a truck.
Heading for the beaches and the forests, to return all ninety-six boxes together.

After his items were returned to the national forest, order was restored.
His business perked up, and his wife returned home.
He decided to never pick up souvenirs again.
The witch had been spot on.
because she had done the same thing
years earlier....

Premium MemberEbony Cat and Pumpkin Bright

A wizard, a witch and a wand went that way.
But the Ebony Cat and the Pumpkin decided to stay.
They had heard about the antics of a bumpkin, tragic.
They knew one thing, these three had black magic.

A scarecrow gave them a tip of the day.
He told them of a corn maize where they could play.
The wizard, witch, and the wand promptly came back.
They picked up the pumpkin and the black cat.

She will be my familiar, the witch cackled with a groan.
Ebony Cat was terrified; she was afraid of this ugly old crone.
Pumpkin decided to show some magic of his own.
He rolled toward the gate, and got out his cell phone.

He called a warlock to come and secure the old witch.
It was a friend of his father’s, and the guy had a twitch.
These two crazy old coots both cast a spell.
Which promptly put them both into a deep dark well.

The witch was the first to get out, and she bewitched the cat.
Transmogrifying her into a beautiful but tiny vampire bat.
The warlock was on her tail, and changed the spell into turquoise blue.
So the bat became a cat and the pumpkin did too.

Premium MemberWizard --- a Blessed New Year

As I watch this old year slipping into the new year...
I pause to reflect.
I can not deny my feelings of being on the edge
emotionally.
But, I will not dwell on the hurt I felt as my voice
was muffled for some time.
Their plans were foiled as they tried to remove me
from their world.
The new year finds me with my coverlet draped over
me as my head rises from my pillow.
As I wake my eyes see a bright new year surrounded
by the love of family and friends.

A Mom, Written When I Was In the 7th Grade

More than just a mom, a friend, a superhero in disguise
Always there, always by your side
Never doubtful, tells us to shoot for our dreams
Strict when needed, but never mean
Someone to tell secrets, a shoulder to cry on
A person you can always rely on
A buddy, a chef, a wizard, a chauffer, so many words to describe her
A mentor, for sure
Need help? Go ask a mom
Preferably mine
She's the bomb!
