1. If she wants you to meet her parents, for God’s sake, RUN!
2. I said, RUN!
3. Unless of course she’s pregnant, then you have to marry her.
4. You may be a douchebag, but you’re a responsible douchebag (and a little old-fashioned).
5. Whew! You mean, Darn! She’s not pregnant. Refer to Rule #2
6. She says, “By the way, did I tell you I want you to meet my parents in their suite at 49er game? They have season tickets. After the game, we’re going to tour their wineries. Yes, that’s plural.”
7. Her parents are rich. Now, you have to think about it.
8. Rich? Freedom? Rich? Freedom?
9. Pragmatic you chooses rich. Good man.

Elephants ran
	from the perilous sounds
the bakery overcooked the days bread
	winter tires
installed on the wheelchairs
soldiers in a line to eat cakes
bread was in short supply
	monsters on break, or strike
clouds dipped to human eyes
	blinding all with hope
if a grave misses a few flowers?
	what does it matter?
chimneys have no smoke
	wineries have no grapes
lovers lost all grace
	when rain falls
words become wet
	like feet caressing the sand
I have a photo?
	would you understand?

In All Entirety

11/21/16

As far as I can see
Mindlessly
Been battling with sobriety

Extreme weather advisories
Over land or by the seas

Many multi-floored wineries
Producing product of the same or different varieties

Animals and humans living within or outside of societies
Where things may happen fairly or unjustifiably

World renowned notoriety
Obtained solo or through a dynasty

In all entirety
A world full of opportunity and vibrancy

All though there is irony
Happening loudly or quietly

Individuals and groups continuing to act defiantly
Showing their own true colors, undeniably

Never did I have much piety
Because it was religious, and something I always looked at undesirably

Is the cycle entirely
Spirally?
Or finitely?

Still to this day occurs piracy
And illegal sales of guns, drugs and objects like ivory

Corruption and briberies
Events carried out publicly or silently

Something well known, now viewed unrecognizably
And indefinably

The butterfly flutters by—
It’s the symbol of our Company.
That logo’s on my bus so high,
Where clients ride so comfortably.
That noted fluttering butterfly
Is a noble Pacific Monarch;
You can sometimes see it cruising by
The Monterey Peninsula, light or dark.
You’ll see my bus parked by fine hotels,
Classy wineries, the Monterey Aquarium,
Beneath the Carmel Mission bells,
Or in Pebble for the A. T. and T. Pro-Am.
The butterfly flutters by—
And in case you didn’t know it,
The driver that waves as he flies by
Also happens to be this poet.*

*The driver has been working part time since 2007 for
Pacific Monarch Ltd., which is headquartered in Marina,
California. The buses are navy blue with a white butterfly
logo. The author has written many songs and poems
while waiting in his bus between runs.
