Fever

Is it possible to die of a broken heart
While you stand right in front of me
My fever rises
You disappear
My world torn apart in less than a week
No one cares that I have fallen
Should I even try to pick myself up
Maybe
Just to spite you
And kick you in the balls with my recovery
For now though I think I'll just lie here
Exhaustion to well known a companion of late
See the people pass me one by one
Not being rude or discourteous
They have no idea I am here
Blindness is fashionable these days
Though I know I am invisible
It hurts to be ignored
Which makes no sense really
But then nothing does
In this rabbit hole I have found myself in
As it is want to happen my mind begins to wander
Has everyone fallen down the same rabbit hole?
Are there multiple holes?
Personal holes?
My arms straining shaking under my own weight
One last thought slips through
Will humanity ever find it's way back to being
Human?
