Our ability to fight climate change,
May well depend on the number of green thumbs,
We vote for, to lead the charge.
This may lead to thumb printing all candidates,
For all positions to check if they are truly green,
In this we should not hesitate.
All children should be exposed to grass,
That is green,
And to have planted at least one tree,
By the time they are three.
Foster parents should be selected,
On the basis of thumbs that are green,
And given gumboots for free.
Lastly all prisoners whose thumbs that are green,
Should be given reduced sentences,
And free gumboots on release,
Plus a packet of seed and a spade,
As well as their own vegie plot.
Schools should be funded on the basis,
Of thumbs that are green,
And children with green thumbs,
Should be given priority of entry.
University entrance,
Should be subject to a green thumb test,
Without hindrance.
Research into maximising,
The number of green thumbs,
Should take priority.

What a good question is this,
I read it on Facebook's blip,
What, Willie Nelson does ask.
Are teen leaving us? The task!
Old Willie and Keith Richards, lo!
They really need to know,
Pickled on booze, sex and drugs,
No healthy vegie juice to chug,
Aging is a blast, free hugs!

Once, way back when,
Trip to the vegie garden,
Mother gazed at flowers,
"Fairies here this hour,"
Glistening wings in the sun,
I could see every one,
No need for consternation,
We had good imaginations!

A-n early lovely morn
I-s just about to break;
L-et January twenty-fourth
E-liminate the heartache.
E-vening shadows disappear, the twilight is gone;
N-ew dawn has broken, bringing light to the horizon.
R-ise of the sun begins,
I-t's a beautiful Tuesday;
V-ile weather turns fine,
E-ach raindrop fades away.
R-emembering your birthday doesn't mean eating too much pork;
A-llow the vegie to prevail, just use spoon and fork.

while walking down the grocery isle
I heard a parsnip
scream out help
I thought
oh no
I need help
is this the end
I should call a friend
then the parsnip did it again
help
help me
down under the parsnip bin
the door was jammed
all I could see was a clerk’s hand
set me free
he said to me
I was relieved but he was
still shaking as I helped him up
he reached into the parsnip bin and
grabbed a huge parsnip
ran over to a blender
popped it in and
as it was chopped into bits
smiled wide-eyed and said
that is the last time that Parsnip is going to do that
to me
