Premium MemberEncountering Paradox Upon the Eve of My Retirement

God of changing changelessness.
God of endless surprises,
confounding the confoundless.
You are the God of Paradox,
revealing to children, that,
which you hide from the learned.
Those mortals you touch,
utterly transformed, Divinely
refereeing matches between
angelic wrestlers and mere mortals,
Jacob becoming the limping Israel,
Moses’ staff raining down plague,
terrorizing those who terrorized,
the vanquished becoming vanquishers.
The angel adorned ark, the
secret weapon of your Covenant,
the enslaved now the rulers.
Shepherd royalty, blossoming deserts,
lions at peace with the lambs,
children playing with cobras,
Angelic announcements
a Virgin conception of the
God/Human who serves
but refuses to be served,
creation murdering the Creator,
the Dead not remaining dead.
Divinely bestowed paradox,
abundantly planted in history,
who am I to question You
about a broken left ankle
on the Eve of my retirement?

We Are the Invaders

History is our target
and its offerings are all we bear
for there alone rides wisdom,
there alone is gain; the vanquished
are the vanquishers this night,
all gain is loss this night,
and irony prevails. We are the lost;
for all we care, we cannot recreate.

We are the invaders, we the odd ones
tremble in the night
from all the history we made--
our legacy to the naive,
doomed faces in the wind, our plight
as graven in the hillsides,
now reduced to outrage
as a foil to God.

The Last War Cry

We are the conquerors and the vanquishers of our time.
We are the heroes and the legends of all time.
We are the killers and healers of all mankind.
We can win this war.

We are the defenders and worshipers of all that is righteous.
We are the owners, and seeker of all that is knowledge
We are the keepers and tellers of all that is remembered.
We can win this war

We are the lovers and companions of good.
We are the providers and mediators of bad.
We are the hunters and saviors of living.
We can win this War.

We are united in force and she is alone.
We are voices in roar and she is silent.
We are many in cause and she is one.

After all, what can one Mother-Nature do to us?
We will win th……..!

' Happy Ending Without the Master '

Enmity, war has proclaimed
Munition between coteries - organized
Victory onslaught enthusiastically aimed
Domestic cats versus gnawing rats - outrage optimized
Chief Cat hangin' in there - now terrorized.

Territory annexed by rodents
Having a grand triumph feast
Devouring every single food - sorry ... cats are prudent
Bane pricked in menus slayed those little beasts
At the end, mousers are vanquishers - strife ceased.
