This Heart is like a Lion
Punished through the years but still tameless
facing the world and the consequences
Scarred but still beating unwinking
and even mended, refuses to surrender
This Heart is like a lion
And for a while, frozen, kept silence
As if waiting for this moment
Relentless, supported the action of the elements with courage
Witnessed the dance of the seasons with faith
And Then...
A street corner near the beach
A table on the sidewalk
A strange Coffee Shop
Innocent exchanges of words
A pool table
A tiny museum
A unknown bookstore
Wake up, brave lion
Because you are no longer mine
You are hers

In the service of flesh
new vision was perfecting a cult;
silence was going home.
It was not there
freedom of defense for bread, but
I must pay the price of hunger.
The oblique afterthought
compelled by nocturnal infidelity
picks up the black threads,
minute by minute.
Death was very genial.
Comes silently behind the cacti -
across the intelligent green.
One has to pay for touching greatness.
The thoughts will never go
from the unwinking eyes.
I was listening to the footsteps.
