Are you hiding inside your writing,
making it impossible to see what you mean
Camouflaged words based on muddled intent,
to confound, confuse, or mislead
Is it cryptic or gibberish in nature,
your attempt to impress with your scheme
Are your words still unlived as you write them all down
—unpurposed and left unredeemed

UNPURPOSED
IS A DREAM THAT I HAVE
IT TAKES A PLACE IN A BEAUTIFUL, MAGICAL WORLD
WHERE PASSION FLOWS
THERE WHERE LOGIC CEASES
WHERE ODDS CHANGE TABLES
WHERE THERE ARE NO BOUNDARIES OF INFINITE FINITIES
WHERE THE BETTER CHOICE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER
WHERE EXPECTED AND UNEXPECTED MEAN NOTHING
WHERE PROPERIEITY IS IMPROPER
WHERE TRYING IS A BURDEN
WHERE WHAT IS INSIDE YOURSELF A GIFT AND NOT AN ABERRATION
WHERE WE SAY NO TO WHAT WE WANT TO SAY NO TO
WHERE WE SAY YES TO EVERYTHING THAT SCREAMED YES FOR US
WHERE BEING GIDDY IS SECOND NATURE AND BEING NOT A CRIME
WHERE REASON IS ABANDONED AND NOT ADORNED
WHERE NAYSAYERS ARE NOT AND WILL NEVER BE
WHERE PRESTIGE IS BLASPHEMY
WHERE I THRIVE
WHERE I CAN BE WHOEVER I WANT TO BE
WHERE I DON’T TRY TILL DEATH DO ME APART FROM WHAT IS PROPER
WHERE I AM UNBOUNDED, I FLY ANYWHERE I WILL TO
WHERE I STRIVE TO GET WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED
WHERE I GET WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED
WHERE ALL BETS ARE OFF AND I AM FREE
To bear with aplomb an existential
need to grieve unpurposed loss is unkind.
Enmesh in secret space and tragic thrall,
silver threads of death's hairsbreadth, small in mind...
So much improper placement now needed
to board up hidden pain's implosive thuds-
Footfalls on heart's walls now go unheeded.
And a slippery slope's where emotion's mud
drowns and buries sorrow's shuddered spats.
Feelings embalmed in cold- hearted reasons,
Tears' release now has no welcoming mat.
"For the best." Covers death in all seasons.
And yet grief's instinctive power to heal
becomes more powerful with freedom to feel...
