for the longing of your embrace,
for elongated dreams of your gaze
with the kind of gleam in your eye
that chases my love,
unlaces dreams I feel uncertain of,
and embraces my body's blood,
which holds the bloodline to our future.
I'm not asking you to worship me,
not to commit blasphemy,
but, if possible, maybe the next best thing?
If you only knew how I long to give you the same

A Strong man has a heart that beats three times as fast, with half the effort
He wilds his way through all the weeds
And has hearses trying to drag his will this way and that
Tied to a crown, he unlaces it
And speaks in inimitable unmysteries
He will go, when he will go, and he will stay, when he will stay
His optimism is indefatigable
And his will… is his own
God alone could sink him he says, (and I think he knows this)
But God sank the Titanic, you know!
A Strong Man With Heart
Is
Altogether, better!

he lies there on the cold ground
staring at the sky
no other man has come to him
none have seen where he lies
his whole body is on fire
his arms, his legs, his head
even though the wound is in his stomach
it won't be long before he's dead
the suffering is far too much
for him to even bear
he knows that he will die out here
and no one even cares
he places the rifle by his foot
and unlaces his boot
he puts his toe down by the trigger
then presses down
and shoots
