The Seed Of Life
A seed implanted into life
who grows, and cautiously
stretches forth to grasp,
and learn and try
A blossom opening to a rose
as knowledge pollinates our minds
The sweet perfume of dreams
drifting from petals of anticipation
A flower, vulnerable toward life,
unheedful of obstacles ahead,
yearning, eager, hopeful,
impatient to extend
The gentle showers of achievements
nourish ambitions hidden under doubt
Endeavous failed, but wisdom gained,
adventures lie ahead
Our roots entwined by friendships,
treasured memories formed,
branching out our minds return
and linger on forgotten times
The season is for laughter,
for memories and smiles
It is a time to journey toward
horizons yet unknown

Silvery, slithery words
Where do they come from?
Hidden
In the well’s dankness
Arising willfully
Surprisingly
Unheedful of my reaction
Or yours
Molding the present
Spilling out of my mouth
Announcing themselves to the world
Often without telling me first

Let the evils of the day suffice to themselves,
Let not the dark descend to deeper depths.
Let our better angels draw their subtle breaths,
To softly sing of virtue 'round our souls' deep wells
As the nightfrost bears the spectral knells
From distant, dreaming, timeworn towers
Slowly marking magical hours,
Casting secret shadowspells.
Let slip our barges on the sea of dreams,
Above those deeps where memory sleeps.
Smooth down the furrowed, careworn brow
As our ship above soft wavelets streams,
Unheedful of the kelpy deeps
Beneath the brightness we call Now.
