Unfaced Poems

Lingering Words

Years pass but the toxic, recurring echo remains heard
Distasteful slurs and horrid remarks fill in every last crack and crevasse
Plastering together an utterly repulsive vision of yourself
Displeasingly seen through your very own tainted heart and mind.

Lingering words feast upon vulnerability and unfaced fear
The unruly poisonous parrot squawks
Telling of your torturous bullied and picked on past
Plucking at the deepest insecurities you fail to hide and overcome.

Brightly neon colored to capture mass attention
Capturing and dismantling your ability to think for yourself
Slowly but surely the bullies from your past own your identity
Lingering words formed through high school envy
Stuck playing on an agonizing loop for excruciating eternity.

Maybe one day you will stop feeding the poisonous parrot with self-doubt
Begin poisoning the lingering words with self-appreciation and hard-earned success.

Facing the Heat

The warm blanket of air sitting on a bone
Warm arms that tickles the heart from afar
Scared eyes that fill lonely holes of the soul.
A perfect match that fit tomorrow's plan.

This happy hands holds on tight with three arms.
Blocking the heat that comes with the sun's beam.
Pulling pale petals to protect the flower.
Digging reason's grave far below where ghosts lives.

Smile grows when only the sun's light is seen
Merry music and sharp scream makes the soul sweet.
A happy ending all roads tend to lead.
Soon the harsh sun moves, then comes wind and heat.

The heat grew caved and falls on a cold face.
Wind wears off the earth till fears are unfaced.
Lies and hides crumble like a house of cards.
All lasting love must mould with wind and hot tar.

I Swear

For you, Gran- I love you!

I swear..
I saw you come in last night,
You breezed, with ease through the midnight sky.
You were quick & beautiful
But you caught my eye.

I swear..
I heard you come in last night,
You whispered in my ear.
You tried to be quiet, quick,
But I knew, I heard you here.

I swear..
I felt you come in last night,
Wrap your arms around my waist.
You stood over me & comforted me
After another day that went unfaced.

I swear..
I felt you close last night,
Although we’re stars and moons apart.
Ever since that night you left us,
I always feel you in my heart.
