After the Floods

After the floods,
We were left with nothing,
Our homes lay in ruins,
All we had gone leaving us torn.

It was an unprecedented downpour,
Twilight’s gift to us,
Spring was in full swing,
The water level rose unabatedly.

Everything we had worked for all taken by the floods,
Everything we had laboured for was damaged by the floods,
Our town stood in the shadow,
Our homes were a torturing silence.

Days after the floods,
We strengthened our feeble hands,
We invigorated our weary minds,
We arose to bring back what had gone to the deep.

“I hold a delightful being and an undesirable being inside of me.
It’s up to you which one you meet”
                                                                                 ~~The Poet~~

dismally destructive
yet charmingly creative

unabatedly chaotic
obligatorily perfection

unsophisticatedly naïve
graciously worldly wise

uncouth and ill-mannered
poised etiquette

audaciously rude
enticingly eloquent

unsuitably slovenly
exactingly efficient

decked in Shabby attire
styled with cultured couture

disheveled, dingy
polished, well-groomed

in company of many in ill-repute
thoroughbred acquaintances

robotically draconian
artistically graceful

Premium Member An Astringent Memory

Why do we exist? That's a query I hear quite often
It's jocular with loved ones, according to many
For others, it's a roller coaster of swings and turns
I had never entertained such trivial notions
Yet all I had were fears they couldn't fulfill.

When precisely I ceased to hope, I fail to tell
The goal is to lead a delightful and fulfilled life
I don't step back to dwell on how split I've come
When it's time, I can bury my pain and carry on
To a family who enjoys prying into my private life
"Can you advise a person to lead a typical life?"

While having little to gaze out to, I raged to live
Actually, life has no value if not for a rushing river
Running unabatedly over the difficult terrain
I never found out how or when it escaped my grip
I am currently blind to the future of my life.

New Life

A new spring of life,
Flowing unabatedly,
It wells from within.

Chasing the Many Faced God

"Chasing The Many Faces of God ( We the People Series)

There they are__ made each day no shame, no disgrace...
Constant reminders of who controls the human race.

We wake up every morning and get hot on the chase...
gotta get the God with big numbers on his face...
gotta hurry along... got no time to waste...
gotta be first in line_ anyhow in any case.

Jamming down my food, pimping my style in great haste...
no time to pull up my pants or tie my shoelace....
grabbing coke and candy_ gotta keep up the pace...
sodas, coffee, caffeine_ smoking crack-freebase.

Looking up in the air, and down in any space_ ....
over here or there_ it could be any place....
cheating through life_ up my sleeve_ a spare ace....
lies are the present _ truth is gone without a trace.

There they are__ made each day no shame, no disgrace...
constant reminders of who controls the human race.
persisting un regrettable unabatedly to abase...
our raped souls_ with anything antidepressant laced.

Next Stop - Next Turn

Next stop is where I begin
Your fears walking a tightrope
Next turn is when I spin
And I’ve got your heart like a top

Next stop – head over heels
Your voice stuck in your throat
Next turn hold your happy meal
'cause I’ve got your head in a coast

Next stop I’ve got your joy
Expressed in your deafening scream
Next turn I’m now your favourite toy
You savour the ride in a tub of ice cream

Next stop – you’ll jump straight back in
Your fears vaporised in a thrill
Next turn – still high on adrenaline
Kicking and screaming with zeal

Next stop you’ll wobble at the knees
Headlong - climbing the steep slopes
Next turn you’ll feel a bit woozy
Unabatedly anticipating the next stop

In the Pitch Dark

My lady called my name
Deep in the pitch dark we played a game

Tis the wonderful game of chess
But in the dark it was more of a mess

Two souls exhaled unabatedly in the dark
Their mission - one could be sure, was no lark

My entire being lurked excitingly in her garden
My thoughts - from whence camest this wonderful maiden

A degree of intense pleasure - simply unimaginable
The excitement that engulfed us - certainly indescribable

Our souls into one whole merged
Our goal, finally we have achieved

Now the night has grown much older
We lay in the pitch dark much sober

Reminiscing the immediate past encounter
Oh my gosh, lets not forget our maker

He set up this beautiful union
Indeed we shall continue to accept his communion
