Tweeze Poems | Examples

Vanity

At the vanity I sit
While my radio plays hits
A blank canvas stares back
Time for some beauty hacks

I hope the gods can hear my pleas
As I sit here and try to tweeze
An eyebrow shape that isn’t messy
Not too shabby, not too dressy

Some mascara and primer
And just a little bit of liner
A swipe of cherry lip gloss
I apply it in a cross cross

Dab, cover up, and powder
I turn my music up louder
It’s not just habitual
It’s a daily ritual

A repetitive task
Just to put on a mask
But it makes me feel good
Quite more than it should

I squeeze into a skinny dress
Beauty is a pain I guess
Even so, I’ll still impress
I’m not even gonna stress

Because even when I’m a mess
I gotta say I still look blessed
Just need a bit of setting spray
And I’m ready to take on the day

Eyeshadow specks gracing the floor
Glitter and gemstone diamonds galore
I glance at the mirror as I walk out the door
I’m looking my best but who’s keeping score

In The Middle Of The Night, When The Butterflies Dance To The Moon's Song

"At the mid of midnight butterflies upward dance, to reach for the moon for spiritual longevity." quote by poet

Lead-in to and conceal an amorous scene
In the middle of the night with the heaven’s light.
Wherein lies the encouraging butterflies
Into dance to the moon’s song in full sight.

Breeze pushing through full of laughter,
Tease in playful serenade shuttering leaves.
Seize in the shadows of flirtatious romance;
Tweeze their velvet wings, a coquettish grace receives.

Reflections

Reflections can point out
what we don’t want to see,
even under the best lighting
I only see the worst of me,
I look over every inch
my vanity on full display,
the grey hair and wrinkles
I wish desperately would go away,
I pluck, tweeze, dye and conceal
everything that makes me unique,
to blend into this petty society
and avoid any negative critique,
I hate that I’m so weak minded
I wish I had the courage to be myself,
being surrounded by photoshopped perfection
certainly doesn’t help,
if we removed all the filters
we could judge beauty clearer.
then I may not hate the image
staring back at me in this mirror.

Surpassing Atrocity

Once human could do what the angel fully failed
Now human can commit what Satan itself cannot
What we are in modern civilization experiencing here
In early 21st century, in an atrocious house, Myanmar;

Covered in colored fells they sit in meditative mood
They know about what they have thought in mind
But coming out of the spots with poisonous nails
Humans they tweeze to kill making artificial hells,

The Bamar are wildly piecing, burning alive humans
Dissecting, exfoliating and feeding the animals,
Often they dangle the victims to the pole and pike
Then torment cutting, burning severely they like;

They are seriously hungry for children and women
Molesting, punching, raping, finally killing is aim
Torturing and torturing they turn young girls crazy
Then again they return to meditation and seen busy.

Trichotillomania

It's not Halloween yet but I have a trich,
No treat. OCD. Since thirteen.
I pluck, I pull, I tweeze, rip, yank.
Hair, lashes, and brows.
Made me once feel so ugly underneath.
A nervous tick, a passerby of boredom. Still unsure.
What causes such a thing, many are unaware.
I am not even sure myself.
All I know is I overcame it after 9 years of struggle.
I feel beautiful again.
I feel like me.
